SILICON CARBIDE ABRASIVE COMPOUND

SILICON CARBIDE ABRASIVE COMPOUND Reviews & Ratings

The very best abrasive compound for 'hard fitting' two pieces of steel. Stands up to continued fitting even on hardened and heat-treated steel. Silicon carbide grit combined with a thick, long lasting lubricant breaks down into smaller and smaller sharp-edged particles to keep cutting longer than aluminum oxide compounds. For use on steel only. Remove with solvent. SPECS: 4 fl. oz. (118 ml).

Excellent product
This was purchased to replace my now-empty tin of this abrasive. I use it occasionally, as I have the full selection of grades, and some grades have specific uses than others cannot do. This is 180 grit, about the coarsest usable for fine work. . I use it for everything from fire-lapping to barrel crown touch up. Since the original tin was from the early 1980s and was just recently consumed, I should have enough for quite some time.
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Use CLP aerosol to clean it up with brass brush not to make any small scratches. Also USE ONLY WITH STEEL not aluminum or any other metals like the last review stated. It will eat trough that AR and ruin that bolt now!! Lmfao. The best thing about it is using it after welding and a brass brush to get that perfect fit. Even in other job take underwater and apply to certain areas for things that make MN lives better without them knowing. Special trick . Use wrong kind and you know that is why a few grains on blueprinting a new bolt action bolt lug to mating face until all same color then your good. I mean half a m&m size most times. Just make sure to clean parts in sonic cleaner or with CLP then into a tumbler.
