SHOTGUN BIG DOT TRITIUM FRONT SIGHT

SHOTGUN BIG DOT TRITIUM FRONT SIGHT Reviews & Ratings

SHOTGUN BIG DOT TRITIUM FRONT SIGHT

Highly visible, tritium dot front sight surrounded by a large white ring epoxies over the existing front bead sight to help improve target focus and low light sight acquisition and sight recovery after muzzle flash. Installs over front sight beads from .125' - .140' diameter by filling the cavity on the underside of the sight with Brownells Acraglas Gel, then pressing the sight over the bead and allowing it to fully cure. If existing bead is too small or too large, replace with Brownells #6 bead for 3-56 threads or #26 for 6-48 threads.

Some shotgun barrels may require drilling and tapping of existing hole to 6-48 for installation of #26 Brownells bead.

  • Plain Barrel model with cupped bottom fits round shotgun barrels. Includes instructions.

Easy to see day or night.
Installed this on my Remington V3 Tac-13. Used Devcon epoxy. The sight fits over the existing bead very well and blends in with the vent rib. The package contains a spare brass bead which you can use if your existing bead is either too large or too small. The large white dot is easy to pick up in either bright or dim light, and the tritium capsule is bright. I am completely satisfied.

Great Product
I use this sight for hunting on those dull and dark days it works great

Great sight system
Once done this looks like a factory sight. Uses the factory ramp and bead sight on a 870. I used Acraglass and some black color and it is rock solid. Follows the contour of the sight base very well. The dot is big and bright in day or night.

Definite improvement over Bead sight
I ordered this product with the same expectations as the previous reviewers. So far with respect to the improved sight picture this component gives, yes it is a world of difference over the factory brass bead. However, the sight I received is not manufactured as closely to the curvature of the bead pedestal as I would have liked to have seen. You can see in my attached picture the amount of gap you might get when you order this sight. I plan to use JB Weld as the other reviewers have mentioned, hopefully it will fill in the gap.

Great sight
I have installed this on 2 870 Remingtons and one 11-87 Remington. I used JB WELD to epoxy them on all of them. I use strictly buck and ball as all of these are work guns. No problems on any of the guns. Oldest one installed is 3 years as of this date. One is even on a Marine Magnum. No problem with the epoxy and the nickel. Great big sight picture. A little tough with slug loads at longer distances, but practice using the top of the circle and you get it. At closer range, the big dot jumps out at you and you are on target.

Great product
The white ring is large and very easy to pick up, and the tritium insert is just large enough to be functional. I wouldn't use it on a long barrel, but on my 18.5" I can see it very well. It looks good, near factory. Doesn't come with the epoxy though, I used JB Weld.

Well made sight - suprisingly accurate
I used one of these on a Winchester M12 project. The bead is great, easy to find in the day, the tritium capsule jumps out at night. With slugs I'm consistantly hitting at 100 yards using the top of the bead as my aiming reference. However even with JB Weld, glue failed me twice. I eventually I soldering the sight to the barrel. It has not failed - word of caution - use a heat control paste on the upper half - the bead - and heat from inside barrel or you risk burning the white part of the bead or rupturing the capsule - this practice may not be recomended

Not for Hunting
I Hunt at night alot and bought this for a new sighting system for an 870. When it got here I taped it to the barrel and went into a total dark room. It had a very low green glow, but I could see it! Then I turned on the Red LED Light attached under barrel and the only thing I could make out was a Black Bump whare the sight is. Maybe I got a bad one but NO Worries! Brownells will take it back. I may try the Metro Tritium
