Perfect for 590
Fit perfectly without modification. Trigger assembly will not ever fall out again. Any fitment issues must have been addressed by Brownells after earlier reviews. Screw heads are flush against receiver, and do not snag clothing, etc. Very happy 590. Added the metal trigger assembly, and fresh magazine spring for completeness.
Love this enhancement
Mossberg should have made this a factory item. The 500 has a reputation for losing the trigger housing pin. Sure enough, last December squirrel hunting I found the trigger group on the ground with no pin in sight. Since I had bought the gun the previous May, it was still in warranty. I called Mossberg, and the young lady promised I'd have a replacement pin in the mail. No such thing. Actually, I'm glad now, because this Brownells pin is a great enhancement. I won't have to worry about the elusive Mossberg pin any more because I KNOW where the Brownells pin is. The only unusual thing about this pin is the screws need shortening to get it absolutely tight. I don't mind it not being that tight, so I haven't bothered shortening it. I may later.
Decent little upgrade
I used the Benelli version of this pin in an American Tactical Imports TAC-SX2 shotgun. It fits it perfectly. It came a little dirty, so I used some CLP to clean it up. 4 stars instead of 5 because the included slot head screws are trash. Brownells should consider including some better quality Torx or socket head screws with these instead. It's threaded for 6-32 screws, in case you want to change them out.
DIY Project
I give this product 3 stars not as a trigger housing pin but as a DIY project. The pin is the perfect length but either the screws are too long or the holes in the pin aren't tapped deep enough. It took almost no time to to grind off the screws about 0.1" so they could sit up against the receiver. I think the manufacturer could have done this but if you look at it as a DIY project you won't get too annoyed.
Not worth it
Requires quite a bit of material to be removed from the ends of the pin, screw then removing a bunch of material from the screw threads so it'll screw down flush, took me about an hour with a grinder and it's a cut and try kinda proposition. Due to the trigger pin being for the most part retained by the trigger housing it's just not worth it.
Good Idea, Poor or NO Qualiaty Control
Great product when made correctly. Screws do not fit flush and will snag on everything including your hands. Brownells has been made aware of this problem and fails to correct.
No screws both times I purchased one
I have purchased two of these. Both came without screws. Very disappointed. Not the first time Brownells brand products have been either completely wrong or with things missing.
Buyer Beware
I purchased the anti-walk pin for a Mossberg 500 AT. When I recieved the item it was missing the screws that come with it. A call to customer service and I had replacements in the mail. When I installed the pin it was too long. Even though I have tightened the screws as tight as they go the pin is loose in the reciever. *I would Loc-Tite to prevent the screws working loose.
