Perfect
Weatherby Vanguard 223 Remington in a MDT chassis. This works perfect. 200+ rounds so far. I used this during load development with various COL and had zero issues. Thanks for a quality product that is made in the USA
Expensive, but a good product.
I swap one around between 2 rifles: a Remington 700 with a Magpul Hunter chassis and magwell, and a ARC Nucleus in their Xylo chassis. I had to modify neither the catch not the rifles to get it to latch and come out effortlessly. It works well for its intended purpose. Would I like for it to be less expensive? Sure. Would I buy it again at current pricing? Absolutely.
Used for F Class Single Field
I bought this for my Savage LRP that is in a MDT Chassis. Works great.
Great accessory
I have a Shilen, 700 footprint .223 Rem in a Mcmillan stock that has bottom metal for a box magazine and this Bobsled allows me to shoot single shot with everything from the 60 grain range all the way up to 80 grains with no marred bullet tips. A lot of the match rounds have hollow points that can be marred very easily. This Bobsled works perfect. It centers the round dead center in the chamber, and locks in solid just like a mag. Simply lay the round in the groove and chamber it, rinse and repeat. Will probably last forever.
Perfect for short action AICS bolt guns.
Ive bought one of these for all of my match bolt guns. No more getting the bolt caught on the follower using a mag during matches while single loading each shot. I leave them in my guns all the time unless I need to clean them. The fit snugly, dont wobble or shift around providing a consistent and repeatable bolt movement every time. Only con is that they are a bit over priced.
If you need one shot at a time
It fits very well and does its job.
Just assume you'll have to fit it!
I use this in two different chassis. One an original AICS 1.5 and the other, an aftermarket chassis. The trimming of the magazine latch "bump" was required to fit into both chassis. Once the "latch bump" was trimmed "slightly" with a file, it performed perfectly as intended. Very well made and a quality piece of kit. After reading the different reviews on some needing fitting and others not needing it, I understand why It is left oversize for "custom" fitting. Again, an excellent product.
Perfect Fit.
Having read some of the comments here, I was hesitant to place an order for this sled. I'm shooting a left hand rifle which would make the choice a mistake if it were not intended for ambidextrous use. Alas, I decided to order it, it arrived in just a few days and I must say I was surprised with how PERFECTLY it fits and functions. No slop whatsoever, latches and unlatches easily, no interference. Better than expected. Hats off to the designers.
May require minor fitting
I have been using the OBS in the AR-15 for many years due to NRA/CMP High Power Service Rifle competitions. I ended up ordering the AI .308 SLED from Brownells because I recently acquired the ATAICS from Brownells, and wanted the SLED for when I used the rifle in F-Class matches. Anyway, the only issue with the AI .308 SLED is that the magazine bump that engages the magazine release on any chassis system based on the AI pattern magazine may be tool long. If the AI .308 SLED is too tight when inserting into magazine well, simply file down the bump (aluminum) until it fits in your chassis. I recommend measuring the bump on a factory AI magazine (or some other AI pattern magazine that fits your specific chassis perfectly) and measuring the bump on the AI .308 SLED and file accordingly. I had to file down about .020" and the SLED fit perfectly in my ATAICS. I hazard a guess that the magazine bump on the AI .308 SLED is oversized on purpose to account for variances between chassis systems based on the AI pattern magazines.
Perfect fit for Ruger Precision Rifle
This was a perfect fit for my Ruger Precision Rifle RPR. Locked right in place with no rattle and allows bolt to function flawlessly. It is a great item to have when wanting to single load the rifle. Would recommend and buy again.
