BRN 10/22 takedown build
Nice low price replacement part that should aid with accuracy by softening recoil. Fit the BRN 10/22 receiver and bolt with no issues.
Problem Solver
I have used bolt buffers in Ruger 10/22s for decades without a problem. On my latest 10/22, the bolt stop pin would slide out at the least of an angle. This product goes into the receiver snugly and stays in until pushed out. It fixed 2 problems easy peasy.
Excellent Quality. Perfect fit.
Excellent quality part. Flexible. Not stiff. Fits snug. Apply a drop of oil and it pushes right in. Required no modification. It is amazing how much this part reduces shock and noise.
Requires modification for install
Installed recently in a BRN-22 receiver and experienced problem with fit as the material is flexible enough that it will expand and bend once pushed through the one side. My solution was to "round taper" one side using coarse sandpaper (which only took a few moments). Take care not to sand too much off. or it may cause it to slip. Action of the bolt on blowback is much quieter now.
Does the job
I had a difficult time installing this until I lubed it. It would be a big improvement if there was a metal pin or rod in the core to stiffen it up. As is, it is just too flexible. It definitely reduces the metal to metal contact on the rear of the bolt, so it does what it's designed to do but could be better.
Not Impressed
Had a hard time installing this buffer. Felt "cheap" to be honest. Live & Learn......
Cheap.... didnt fit at all.
The price was cheap but so was the quality. Didnt fit at all and felt inferior. Lesson learned.
