Replacement stock turns your 10/22® into a realistic looking stand-in for an M1 carbine without altering any part of the action. Easy drop-in fit for any 10/22® action with the standard 18½" tapered barrel. Original M1 stock parts were used to make steel patterns for automated precision lathes that cut raw European beechwood blanks into finished stocks in the unmistakable M1 shape, including the cutout in the butt for the original GI oiler/sling retainer (not included). After milling, every stock is inspected for flaws by test fitting to a 10/22 barreled action before sanding with 300-grit media for an ultra-smooth surface. USGI model is stained to replicate the dark red-brown of the original USGI tung oil finish before application of a protective polyurethane sealer.

The 10/22 M1 Carbine Stock Conversion Kit now includes two upper handguards, one with a cutout for the factory rear sight, and one without for those who use a M1 Carbine style rear sight or scope.

M1 Carbine stock for 10/22

I'm so pleased with my new M1 Carbine replica stock I purchased from Brownells. It was very well-packaged and arrived in perfect condition. It did require some minor wood trimming and sanding to fit the Ruger barreled action properly into the stock but it looks great and the color and finish are better than I expected. I highly recommend this product and Brownells.

10/22 M1 carbine stock

In a word... GREAT! But I will give more detail. This stock is well made and it fits, look great. The color is red-ish... more like a brown/burgundy. The upper handguard color doesn't quite match the stock but that makes it look like an armory rebuild, like so many military surplus rifles. I sourced an oiler and sling and made it almost complete (need to source M1 carbine dummy mag extensions from E.A. Brown). My 10/22 already had Tech Sights, so it looks very close to an M1 carbine. And it is a hoot to shoot, as well as a being a conversation piece. Finally, I will admit that it is pricey, but I have no regrets... it is cool!

Absolutely love it. Color is a little redder than I like, but it will work. Perfect fit, however the slot for the oiler is a little large to get a tight fit on the sling. I’d still buy it again, looks good completely installed.
