For any rails not in use there are blank covers to protect your hands from the sharp edges. Both the cheek piece and the non-slip rubber butt pad can be removed and the cheek piece is fully adjustable.

1022 stock
Excellent stock. Lightened rifle up and made it where my wife can shoot it comfortably

Good,if you buy it for a 10/22
Bought this for a Thompson Center T/CR22 since its basically the same as a 10/22 and I thought it would be sweet and useful. It has a few sharp edges that need a file and it pinches my thumb when folding the stock but those are the only real glaring downsides. Although feeling a bit cheep it is... robust. Now for the Kicker :Unfortunately the T/CR22 has a 17in. barrel, unlike the 10/22 that has a 18in. barrel. That is a major difference in the eyes of the law, as since the gun can be fired while the stock is folded it must be 26in. while folded to be considered a rifle and not a Short barreled Rifle, even though it has a barrel over 16in. (under 16in. barrel is the norm on a "SBR") which would not be a problem had I intended to correctly and permanently pin a device on the threaded barrel to make up that 1in., but I do not intend to do so. So instead I must return the stock.

Not a bad piece of kit
Mounted with a C-More Red on my 10/22, this is just the best after market stock I've come across. Foldable, for transportation/carrying and with the adjustable butt and excellent pistol grip, this stock is hard to beat. It so completes the 10/22 that it's difficult to imagine shooting w/o it. Room for more "bells & whistles" than you beat with a stick, I must say that for the money (I bought mine from UK) it's well worth the cost in or ; the $ price is even more competitive. What's not to like. 4* because the top cover has 2 securing screws to many but this is really a very minor nit-pick - 4.75* would be more accurate

10/22 strike force stock
I bought this stock for my wifes rifle because the adjustable stock so she and I coulsd both shoot it well. It works great looks good and does the job very well, except for how the top peace over the barrel is mounted. It takes six screws the back two of which i can't get out with out removing the red dot sight. So now if we get caught in the rain we have to choices. 1 don't take the barrel/reciever assembly out of stock and hope it doesn't rust. 2 remove the reddot sight so we cqan remove stock and wipe down and oil barrel and hope sight stays zeroed. Also one of the brass thread inserts came loose with very little torgue(I was just snugging them up before tightening them all down. If ATI redesigns how the top barrel cover mounts(such as a slide and lock tipe) it would get 5 stars from me.
