Not in spec / QC issues
Got a glock slide completion kit, a Brownells slide, and a Brownells Barrel.
Slide hangs up and wont return to battery last 1/16th of an inch or so. Tapping with thumb will seat get the slide to RTB. Swapped my buddies true Glock G17 slide and barrel onto my gun, works fine. Same issue when I put my slide on his gun.
There is some issue of tolerance stacking with brownells parts or something.
Malfunction junction
Pvd finish immediately wore off anywhere it contacted metal with 40 rounds through it. Wore down to the shiny base metal. First round jammed the slide to the rear and took hammering to get it forward again. Multiple failures to extract. I’ve filled glocks with sand and not seen malfunctions like this.
Slide
The slide looks very well machined but the nitride on my slide is a rusty brown color. I sent an email over a week ago and havent gotten a response yet.
Needed $100 of machine work to fit.
I was excited to get this product. I had a Holosun 508t awaiting it. I received the slide, mounted the holosun, and then test fit.. I discovered the hole machined for the barrel was .5mm undersized. As I did not have a bit the size needed I took it to my local gunsmith. He said no prob, wont take but a minute. He got that done, and called me to look at it. The top where the barrel drops into the slide was not machined enough to allow it to drop down... So seeing as we already made front hole larger instead of sending it back, I realized we could not exchange it. So $100 later I have a slide that actually fits my Glock with Brownells threaded barrel. I called Brownells to talk to them about this and as expected, the answer was "should have sent it back for exchange" Well sure, hindsight is always 20/20. Wish I had not only thought the barrel hole was off and it would be a quick fix... As it was in 2 places out of spec, a coupon or something would ease the pain of this.
