Chamber Reamer
Cut a perfect chamber.Verry happy with it.
Great reamer.
This reamer worked very well. Cut great and left a nice finish. Clearing chips often and using transmission fluid for lubricant produced a nice accurate chamber and head space.
Very good tool
I have only used it once but it worked well. It is very sharp and cuts well. I finished the chamber on a NOS 03A3 barrel. Take your time and be patient. Check your head space gauges often because this thing does cut!!!
Excellent
I just used one to finish a short chambered barrel, had to cut it about .035" deeper. With the barrel held very rigidly in a vertical position, I hand turned the reamer in with a large tap handle. It left a perfect finish with no tendency to chatter and it was very easy to control the depth of cut.
Razor Sharp Work of Art
I go occasional gunsmithing, swapping barrels etc. I was able to successfully re-work a poorly chambered brand new prefit barrel. It cuts easily and produces an excellent finish exceeding my expectations. The throat was inspected under magnification and was cut as good as or better than other factory barrels I own. I used a small lathe, lots of oil and floated the reamer.
.30-06 Finish reamer
I bought this to finish ream (3) 1903A3 Springfield's I was putting new barrels on. The reamer worked very well and cut smoothly. It took much longer to cut each chamber then I thought it would. But part of that was because I went slowly, used moderate pressure and measured with the GO gauges repeatedly so I did not remove to much from the chamber. All three rifles came out perfectly and I was very pleased with the results. I should be able to get many more chambers reamed with this same tool so It was a very cost effective purchase.
A Razor Sharp Work of Art
I picked up what appeared to be a short chambered 22-250 very heavy fluted stainless barrel from an estate sale. An expensive barrel for a project that was never finished I needed to ream the chamber .016". After checking out Manson, I decided to go with their affordable solid pilot reamer. I slathered the chamber and reamer with a mix of marine sterndrive gear oil, general purpose oil and Magic Tap, sort of like oily honey, and took my time cutting by hand, frequently stopping to clean chips and check progress. The results were beyond my expectations. No jams, gouges, scratches, cut marks or rifling dings. I've have PTG and Clymer tooling but my go to reamers will likely be Manson solid pilot.
Best cutting reamer I have
Cuts better, leaves a better finish than reamers in my toolbox costing 2.5 times as much.
Great reamer!
I built 2 guns with Shilen Select match 223 barrels from Brownells. Chambered with the fixed pilot 223 Wylde Manson reamer from Brownells. Both guns shoot 1/4 MOA or better. I have great luck with Shilen barrels. I've had great luck with fixed pilot reamers.
works perfect
i used this with a t-handle extension on a new heavy barrel installed on my swedish mauser action to finish the chamber .. the reamer was very sharp and it only required a few revolutions to get the clearance i needed ...
