LARGE RIFLE MAGNUM PRIMERS

LARGE RIFLE MAGNUM PRIMERS Reviews & Ratings

Non-corrosive, all weather primers deliver fast, dependable ignition under any shooting condition. Winchester works to make sure all primers are reliable, instant and precise. In Winchester testing labs, primers are constantly and rigorously tested for consistency and sensitivity at temperatures and conditions far beyond the range of normal usage. Winchester guarantees better sensitivity for more positive firing in all guns, carefully-controlled weights of primer mixtures, consistency in size and quality, precise measurements and tolerances for anvil heights, and stability in extremes of temperatures and humidity.

Thanks Brown
Brownells is one of about 4 online retailers I will shop at. This is because Brownells was as fair as I thought they should be during the pandemic shortages. I appreciate their honesty and integrity. I'm a customer for life now. There's about 7 or 8 other online retailers that I will never do business with again, ever! Most of you reading this know who im talking about.

WMLR
I've been looking for these going on five years now. It was really nice to see, and buy these again! For my 300 win mag and 300 wby mag.

Good primers
I have used Winchester large rifle primers for the past 30 years. Never a FTF, no blown primers, no problems at all. I have used other primers and have not been so lucky, FTF's were the main problem. But as of lately availability is a huge problem, as with all large rifle primers. I am fortunate that I have a good quantity on have to keep me shooting CMP and sniper matches. They are good primers and keep me medaling in my matches.

Some bad win. 41s out there
Why loading for 300 BLK out and other small rifle primer cartridges with fresh win. 41s last year had several FTFs. Yes they were seated correctly no the hammer springs are not worn out. This happened several times with several host all came out of the same 1000 brick. Nice hard primer strikes eject and out of curiosity let them sit for a bit reload them same results. Probably 5 or more every 100 with different cal. And different host 5 stars just cause availability

Great primers
Mr AZ T, I haven't in 40 years have not had any problem with ANY primer not firing. Probably they were not seat properly in the first place. Or you have a weak firing spring. I could go on. Old Realoader, Did you pull the heads an run each back thru a calibrated scale. Is the powder used rated the fastest for said loading an max amount for the headend?

A surprisingly good primer
I bought these primers because they were reasonably priced and at the time there wasn't too many other brands in stock to choose from. I bought these to use in plinking grade ammo so I can't attest to how accurate they are compared to other primers. What I can tell you is they have never given me any issues, they seat easily, have a good build quality, and I have not had one fail to go off. I would definitely buy these again and recommend them to other reloaders that want a good all-around primer that is not cheaply made like some of the imported bulk primers.

Best primer for spherical powders
I found changing from this primer from another very popular brand to show an increase by 50fps in .223 REM and decrease the extreme spread from 70fps down to 20-30 or less in some cases. Clearly superior for W748, TAC, AA2520 & H335 etc. YMMV.

Never a Failure
Loaded 1000s of rounds never a blown cup, or miss-fire, if you stay away from over pressure loads.

this primer works great.
Like everything else in shooting you have to match the case, primer, powder, to the rifle you are shooting. Started reloading at 15 years old. Now 66 and I am still learning. this is my sweet load. Lupa rem 223 cases. 8208 powder, 24.1 grains. Sierra 69gr hpbt-match. seated 2.261. Bushmaster Varmint stainless steel barrel. Shot P-Dogs on brothers ranch in Colo. at 400 yards no problem.
