Works great 👍
Spent casings were getting stuck in my AR barrel due to heat expansion. Using the flex hone with flex hone oil fixed the issue. It comes with instructions and is easy to use. At first I misunderstood and thought the flex hone was meant to polish the entire barrel and it would not go past the chamber. I reached out to brownells and was told its only to polish the chamber. It totally fixed the problem. Im very happy with the results. Thank you Brownells!

FLEX-HONE SUCCESS
A few years back a customer had an AR-15 that refused to allow fired brass to escape the chamber. We found the chamber had debris from the finishing process inside it. The rifle's manufacturer sent us a Flex-Hone to polish the chamber and keep the hone. WOW, that chamber came out clean and problem free. Since that first application we have seen 3 more similar situations with AR-15 chambers with finishing debris that required cleaning. It is NOT necessary to remove the barrel from the receiver to polish the chamber. Chamber dimensions were not affected by the polishing activity. While this first hone was free to us, I will buy all future hones from Brownell's.

Works great for honing AR
I used the hone for honing my AR rifles and pistols (6 so far). Worked as advertised. I mount it in a Dewalt 12 volt cordless drill which seems to give me the speed variations I need. Did what I wanted. Used on both .223/5.56 and 300 BLKOUT guns. You need to be a little more careful on the 300 BLKOUT so you don't run it in too deep.

8 inch OAL
Somehow I had it in my head that this thing would be 14 inches long, allowing for a straight shot through the upper receiver. As shown in my attached picture, it is 8 inches OAL. I padded and clamped my upper in a vise, and came at it from the underside of the receiver. The shaft flexed, but Id have been more comfortable coming straight into it. I wont know how well it worked until I get a chance to shoot again, hopefully soon. I went light on the honing, heavy on the honing oil. Rather than risk overdoing it, I figure I can always come back at it again. I used it in a new SS 223 Wylde barrel that was ejecting pitted brass, indicating a rough chamber.

Works Great!!
The directions say to lap the bore for 3 min....it took only 1 1/2. Worked great. Caution should be used to not to insert into the neck or throat, as stated in the instructions. Use with flex hone oil 080-609-008WB. I used a 3/8" cordless drill, worked great. Easy directions, short sweet and to the point. Only gave it 4 stars because of the price...but I guess if you have a product that works great you can charge a little more. The plus side is that if you watch what you are doing, (i.e. Don't insert it too far, or catch it in the locking lugs), this should last for a long time.

FLEX HONE
I have the 5.56/.223 flexhone that I have been using on my compitition rifle and those of my customers. I have been so pleased with how much easer it is to clean, chamber, and eject spent rounds, and has helped accuracy.

Chamber hone too short to work
The chamber home stem was too short to be used on my bolt action rifle. So it is not useable for me. It was clearly not intended for bolt action rifles as the stem was 3.5 inches too short. So I wasted my money and time getting it.

Too short for a rifle.
The wire on this is too short to reach the chamber on a bolt-action without (completely) removing the barrel from the stock. That said, it's a nice tool to have for all your .22's.
