Efficient and effective in cleaning the barrel
This is the first time I used one of these since 1967 when I used a home made one on my aunt's 22LR rifle. With a dirty barrel it takes a while to get the pull string through the barrel. Once through I had to wrap the cord around my hand three times to give me enough pull to get it through the barrel. I used this on two 22 LR barrels and one 223 barrel. All three barrels came out clean. This is the only brand that I've tried so I can't compare it with other pull throughs. The reason for this purpose was mainly to clean 22 LR barrels as I hate to clean them with a cleaning rod and tight patches.
Gold standard for bore cleaners
The boresnake is the best pull through bore cleaner on the market. It is fairly priced and well manufactured. I use these throughout the year. Giving the boar a thorough detail cleaning during the winter months.
i have one of these for each rifle. Ther
These work great with each of my rifles. i bought them for my shotguns also. This is a good product.
Easy clean up
I really like these snakes for cleaning my rifles. I shoot quite alot with my grandkids. We shoot my 22-250,6.5 creed moor, and 243. I have snakes for every caliber I own. They're great for shot guns also.
Hoppes rifle boresnake with den
Typical of other Hoppe's products, this .308 boresnake is well made and works great. Keep up the good work.
Great
Definite plus for quick field cleaning the Remington 5mm Magnum and the CZ 455/457s, etc., in .22 caliber. CZs have a smaller diameter bore than standard .22s.
Hard to use but did the job
The ferule of the snake fits the .17HMR bore but the body was difficult to pull through the barrel. It did a good job but I struggled with my limited arm / hand strength to use it as designed.
Boresnake good, pull handle not
The boresnake is fine. The Den (box) has a removable lid that is supposed to work as a pull handle for the boresnake after you drop the weighted end down the barrel and attach to the handle to pull it through. When I attached the boresnake weighted end to the pull handle it pulled the metal weight off the boresnake. Just use the boresnake without the handle. Handle is not helpful in my experience. Recommend if you can buy the boresnake only for less money, do that, because thats all you need.
