This adapter is easy to install without any modifications to your AK. With no need to permanently alter the stock tang as it fits inside the adapter and tube. Fits Great - FOR STAMPED AK's ONLY!
The review below me tried fitting it on a milled AK (C39v2). The Brownells video states it's for STAMPED AK's only. Fit well on my DDI stamped AK.

Exellent product, but...
Excellent adapter, very well made. The best if you plan on using the iron sights as the tube comes lower then on any other similar adapters. Only caveat is that requires quite a LOT of fitting to install on Norinco; the receiver of T56 is made of 1.5 mm steel compared to most East Block AKs where the material is 1 mm so the inner diameter is smaller then on most models. Also, the Chinese tang is about 6 mm longer then standard, so the holes do not fit (see the pic after taking it, I ended up filing the rear tang hole so it aligns with the hole on the adapter) I filed the sides and the "forehead" of the part of the adapter that goes inside the receiver, and filed the rear tang screw hole some now it fits tight and very solid, even without the adjustment pieces.

So far, so good
I researched this item and went back and forth between it and the rifle dynamics version. This one is half price and when "chatting" with the Brownell's rep, he said I could return it if didn't work out. Well, I figured that was worth a try. The unit fit well on my Saiga with some minor fitting of the mounting screw (filing). However, there are no directions and there are two pieces that fit inside the adapter that I truly don't know what their purpose is. That said, it fit well and looks good. I put a Magpul MOE stock on the AK. The length of the stock with the adapter is outstanding. Time will tell as to durability, but so far I'm very happy.

Worth getting to modify your AK
I received the product 3 days before it was schedule to arrive, so my 'hats off' to Brownells for their speed of processing delivery. The part fit into my Warsa 10/63 lower receiver without any problems. It is made of the same strong material used in a lot of today's AR's, and the location for the QD attachments is where I like them to be. With the stock fully collapsed, it is a half inch shorter than the standard AK stock, fully extended it is as long as an A2 stock for those that like the longer length of pull. The only 2 issue's I did have was; (1) the lack of a proper fitting allen key tool to set the lock screw for the buffer tube and the two mounting screws, (2) I had to use a sanding wheel to grind down the edge of the mounting screw that went under the recoil spring/ locking latch for the dust cover to get it to fit flush with the surface and have everything mount properly back into place on the receiver. Other than those two minor issues, this is a great product for anyone who wants to mount an AR collapsible butt stock to their AK 47/74 rifle's. I would have given it 5 stars instead of 4, if it was not for having to do a little work when I was installing the part.

Needs a lot of fitting to work.
As others have said, will NOT fit a Century Arms C29V2, and is usable on a Century Arms VSKA with a lot of fitting. Once fitted on the VSKA Trooper, it seems to work okay.

Works but...
This piece may work for other AKs, however on a Norinco AK 56S wood stock only one mounting screw would fasten. Overall, I didn't like the way it looked when completed.

does not fit
Sturdy design, but does not even come close to fitting C39V2 rifle from century
