A Good to Have Tool
After reading through Kuhnhausen's "The Colt Single Action Revolvers" the author mentions checking the replica single actions for cylinder alignment. I didn't consider this an issue but out of curiosity I ordered the 44-40 Range Rod. My Cimarron Frontier 44-40 (Pietta) cylinder alignment is good. Current replica single actions are an improvement over the ones when his manual was composed. After tuning a cylinder bolt it occurred to me that the Range Rod is a handy item to keep the cylinder aligned in order to fit bolt stop height. Item deserves 5 Stars but a shorter handle would be convenient as an accessory.
