After reading reviews on the Brownells Slide Parts kit for the Gen 3 Glock 17 and the economical price, I ordered this item for a current after market build. Comparing the individual parts to genuine Glock parts, the quality of the Brownells kit became very apparent. Installation was as expected and function is normal. With current availability, economical price and quality of the parts, the Brownells Glock 17 Slide Parts kit is a "no brainer"!!!

I'm pleased with the product after preinstall clean and polish works great. As with anything use the 5p rules and you'll like it.

The combined purchase of this kit with barrel and slide got me a high quality product for less than some bare slides cost.

Got a fee more of these kits for builds. Have had good performance in the past and expect the same this round.

As I stated in my last two reviews, this is a great parts kit for the price point and I would like to add some more information. First I stated that the safety buttons are nice. They are. However they can be improved on by the user by chucking them up litely in a drill, ( spring cup in the Chuck ) and polishing the button side starting out with 600 grit wet dry, use a quality paper, and removing the remaining machining marks and slightly radiasing the top edge from its sharpness. Do not remove much material. Then use a 1200 grit to add more polishing then a 2000 grit. It will astound you how smooth and fine it comes out. You will then have equivalent of as Apex safety button. Do not polish the spring cup side. Next I stated that I tested the firing pin and spring on military small rifle primers with no hiccups. But I have discovered that I have a batch of them that left me with 8 out of a hundred lot that were real thick cups. Out of those 3 fired on the second try in a pistol with this kit but 5 did not, but they also would not fire or dent any deeper even in a pcc that can puncture thin rifle primers, and I double checked seating depth and it was dead on .0035 . This is first ever for this happening to my reloaded rounds. So be aware if you're forced to use these type of primers for reloading pistol rounds just trying to get some handgun time on the trigger fingers.

This parts kit installed without a hitch in my G34 gen 3. Functions perfectly. Quality is good. Price is fair. No complaints. I see no reason to buy one that's more expensive.

I've purchased more than one of these, and will purchase more for use and as spare parts on hand. The safety button is nicely polished as is the extractor pushrod. Both are turned from bar stock stainless. The extractor has a loaded chamber indicator, all the springs are very good and up to proper tension and tested and compared to stock glock. The firing pin is definitely a mim but seem as good as stock glock with the exception of mold lines, but that does not bother me as they can't be seen inside the slide, and is strong enough to withstand striking military small rifle #41 primer cups. So far no problems with a single part in this kit/set. I do however use Strike Industries S.S. recoil spring rods along with ISIM springs as a matter of preference, but have put this kits recoil spring thru the paces with no failures. I also use Apex ultra safety buttons but found that this kits safety buttons have a better feel than stock glock and many others on the market including at least one manufacturers tin coated. This set is a great buy for starting out or replacement of stock glock parts as well as spare parts for this oops Factor moments. And it comes with a inexpensive firing pin channel liner tool that works ok, and with a quick addition of a threaded bolt to the hammer end of the liner tool it will work as an old liner removal tool too.

Couldn't complain. It all fit well, except i had to fine polish the sides of the fireing pin sear as it was a little tite in the slide slot. It's an after market slide so that could have been the tite factor. This was the only issue and to me really not an issue. The extractor has a loaded chamber indicator which is allways a plus. You can tell that some parts are MIM. but thats not an issue with me as its only a slite mold line visable and these parts are not once they are in the slide. After installation they function tested just fine for 30 rounds. No extractor marking on cases, fireing pin deep even on small military rifle primers as a test of the fireing pin spring. Extractor even on pull,release and ground placement of empty cases. Everything funtioned as stock glock parts do.

Fits just like the factory parts. I can't speak to the durability as it should be evaluated after 1000's of rounds. The only issue I had was with the extractor plunger and the spring. Putting the spring on the "nipple" requires a lot of extra force. On all factory Glock's I've owned it just slips on with little if any force. On this parts kit I had to use force along with some twisting. This has no affect on the function, but it's the only issue I've as far as fitment.
