Glock 48 parts
Everything fit perfectly
Quality parts kit.
Functions as expected, excellent parts kit. Fit and functions well.
Glock 43 slide parts
Purchased for back up to have on hand if any problems. The parts as a group is an excellent purchase. Brownells was extremely fast on processing order and its arrival. Overall very pleased and will certainly use Brownells in the future.
Almost perfect
Bought a new 43X but it was failing to eject about 2% of the time. Rather than wait for Glock to fix it, I thought I'd rebuild the slide and see if that fixed the issue. The parts were well-machined and matched very well. The Guide Rod/Spring Assembly even seemed more robust than the Glock original, which I liked. After 97 rounds, the new Guide Rod came apart (unthreaded), allowing the end of the rod to come off, squirting the spring out in the middle of nowhere (see pic). So, unlike the original rod, this one is threaded, and unfortunately, when it was assembled, no one put any thread-locker on it. I think this is still a decent kit, but if you're going to put this in a firearm, you MUST take the Guide Rod apart, put some thread locker on the screw, and then reassemble it. It's only held together with a small machine screw, and the guide rod is under extreme force with every shot. Why this is sold that way, I have no idea. I've had no other problems from the kit.
Recoil Spring Assembly Issue
Bought the replacement parts kit to build my Grey Ghost Precision slide. The firing pin had a slight fitment issue where it was causing light primer strikes. I solved the problem by polishing the firing pin with some Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. My other issue was when the slide and frame was completely assembled, my slide would move back about 1-2mm while dry firing and on the last round in the chamber. I took the provided recoil spring assembly from the kit out and replaced it with an OEM assembly. I noticed that the spring assembly was also loose when I twisted the front of the assembly. After replacing the spring assembly, my slide stopped moving backwards during dry fire.
Non-usable Recoil Spring Assembly
I had the same reset issue with the included recoil spring as the other reviewers. I bought the OEM Glock Recoil Spring and then it fired without issue. The reason for the two stars is the remaining parts seem to function fine.
Firing pin is oversized
Not as advertised. Firing pin is oversized and needs fitting. Everything else seems ok, but who knows.
Knock-off Quality
I did not have success with a single part in this kit "as is." As a number of other reviewers noted, the guide rod assembly is so underpowered it allows gross movement of the slide wile pulling the trigger, so much so that the barrel would actually start to tilt and come out of battery leading to unsafe firing mode. Compounding this, the firing pin, guide, and cups are oversized and bind in every slide I've tried them in, at least this can be ground down to improve function, but entirely disappointing for a gun model that is not supposed to be custom fit like a bespoke 1911.
poor quality
Wish I had read more reviews before purchase. Recoil spring is very weak, extractor required fitting and back plate was very tight. I will replace all these parts as better ones become available. That this kit is available is about the best I can say for it.
Avoid this
The recoil spring in this kit is absolute garbage. It's so light my whole slide moves backwards when you press the trigger. I can legitimately compress the whole spring down to the base with 2 fingers and no effort whatsoever. Not to mention it looks like it was made in a cave with primitive tools
