REMINGTON 700 OVERSIZED RECOIL LUG

Straight, non-tapered recoil lug fits most factory stocks and full-length aluminum bedding blocks without time consuming alterations. Engineered to be slightly thicker than the factory part for added stiffness that prevents flexing for improved accuracy. Surface ground perfectly flat for superior centerline tracking during recoil for consistent accuracy. Standard size matches overall factory bore dimensions, except for thickness. Overbore has the same basic dimensions as the standard size, except bore I.D. is .015" larger to fit barrels with oversized thread dimensions. Gunsmith installation required.

I like it for a Savage

I don't think this is good for a Rem 700 as other posters have stated. However, for a Savage 10/110 going into a chassis like an MDT it works great, you just need to trim the bottom.

Not too shabby

Nice product, only thing I found is the outer dimensions were not the same as a factory rem lug like advertised.

Dimensions don't match factory

This lug does not match the factory lug at all. The lug is both longer and narrower than the factory. I can't find a lug alignment tool to fit it making alignment difficult. Beyond these issues, the lug is flat and of great quality. It is advertised as factory dimensions except thickness, which is not true.

Garbage

Thickness varies from .229 to .231 Bore is oval shaped. 1.055 at the narrow point. 1.066 at the widest. This is worthless to any rifle builder.

Requires special tool.

The recoil lug is nicely finished but undersize. The bottom tab or actual recoil lug is only 0.95" wide. This is 0.15" less than the factory M700 lug which is nominally 1.1" wide. As a result, tools made for the standard lug to index & hold it during installation won't work. A special tool is needed. This is not explained in the specifications.
