OK so far!

I purchased a 597 extractor in July 2018 for my spare parts box and just recently installed it. After reading the two reviews regarding early failures, I was concerned that I would also have an early failure. However, it installed normally and has been reliable so far. Not sure if there have been any recent changes to the manufacture of this part, but my 2018 extractor has not had a failure like the two previous reviews.

Didn't get through 1 mag

I bought this extractor along with a new spring and plunger for my 597 VTR. Didn't get through a 20 rounds before having a failure. Everything I read online said to buy the Volquartsen extractor and not the Remington replacement, I decided to be cheap and here I am getting ready to order another extractor. 1/5, would not recommend.

Junk

During install the extractor just broke. No tools, just my bare hands installing into the bolt. It broke down like charcoal within seconds. Didn't even get 1 use out of it.
