Brownell's hazzit!
What a great source for all your gun tinkering!!
Always love an extra sling point!
This a cool and useful well thought out and well made part.
Perfect
Installed on Hogue butt-stock, drilled hole in stock, no need to tap, the nut holds tight from the inside. Hit with a bit of loctite, use a 3/4" wrench to tighten and an Allen inside the qd barrel. Tested with 2 qd slings (Armageddon gear/VTac) and both work great. Looks factory. Would buy again, no doubt
Hurray Grovtec!!!
Installed this product in a UTG brand A2 stock. Instructions were included. Instructions suggest drilling a " hole in the stock and tapping the hole with a 9/16-18 UNF -2B bottom tap. I believe the nut supplied is really to be used as a jam nut. I didn't have the specified tap, but I have a " - 18 NPT tap, used it and was successful. Other tools you should have on deck are: " Allen wrench ( Allen socket worked best) " combination wrench Cordless Drill w/" Chuck Thread locking compound and a 1x2 wooden stick to place inside the storage compartment, so you don't drill through the other side of your stock. I started with a " drill, and stepped up to the " recommended size with several drill changes. I'm pleased with this product. I have been looking for something like this to make an A2 stock compatible with modern QD slings. I will buy another Grovtec GTHM198 for another rifle in the future.
Extremely Well Made
Worked perfectly for my build. Installed on an older F.N.-F.A.L. Drilled the hole in the fore end a little larger and looks professional.
Great for G.I. A1 Stocks
I've installed these before in AR15/M16 A1 Stocks before & they work as intended. These were out of stock for awhile so I tried a couple different brands. One seemed flimsy & the other was way too difficult to install. The GROVTEC bases are more robust & still easy to install with the right tools. When I saw they were back in stock I got four more of them. I'd give 'em 5 stars if they weren't full-rotational. They'd be perfect if the QD slings could lock in one position.
