POLISHING COMPOUNDS

POLISHING COMPOUNDS Reviews & Ratings

Polishing abrasives have a myriad of uses in the shop. Cream Bobbing abrasive is coarse and aggressive for starting on metals with a rough surface. Brown Tripoli general purpose compound is a medium abrasive and safe for all metals. Gray Star is a medium cutting compound for harder metals like steel. White Ice is a fine abrasive compound for softer metals that require a delicate touch or as the final step in polishing steel. Green Flexible Multi-Purpose has a medium-to-fine cut and is safe for all metals; a good, all-around polish. Plastic Blue gives a mirror-smooth finish to acrylic, plastic, or fiberglass. Works great on plastic grip caps or forend tips. Green Rouge is a good choice for nickel, silver, or white gold. Blizzard Premium is a white compound that leaves an almost mirror finish on harder metals.

SPECS: Packed in cardboard; approximately 5" (12.7cm) long x 1" (2.5cm) wide x 1" tall.

Polishing compound as promised.
I use this compound for feedramp polishing and a host of other projects to smooth out and bring a great mirror shine where needed. I use often and works great with dremel type polishing wheels.

Brown Tripoli
Leaves a good finish after 400 grit polish-o-ray. Smells absolutely horrible though, every time I apply it to the wheel the whole shop smells. Great way to extend the life of the polish, because I'm putting on the absolute MINIMUM lol
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Maybe I'm using it wrong?
Tried polishing a feed ramp, coated my felt Bob, attached it to my dremel, didn't seem to add much of a shine. Maybe I bought the wrong one?

Not worth it
Wanted to give this a try in the shop because I was having trouble locating what I had been trained on. It took almost the whole block (which is small, 1" square by about 5" long with packaging) to get the wheel prepped. Hit it with the first couple of small parts after it dried and had zero compound left on the wheel after a short time. The parts came out looking good, but there is zero durability. Took the time to locate the compound I was familiar with and paid the same price per POUND as I had for this small block.
