PICATINNY BIPOD ADAPTER

PICATINNY BIPOD ADAPTER Reviews & Ratings

Lightweight, slimline design eliminates the “clunky” extra baggage look that goes along with trying to mate a bipod to a AR-15/M16 handguard. The rugged, aluminum platform with fixed attachment stud provides a superior fit to Weaver or Picatinny, accessory rails. Two hex-head crossbolts give uniform clamping pressure, so adapter remains rock solid while shooting. Specifically contoured to accept Harris and similar bipods that attach to a swivel stud. SPECS: Aircraft-grade aluminum, hardcoat anodized, matte
black finish. 2-5/8' (6.7cm) long, 1ј' (3.2cm) wide, 5/8'
(1.6cm) high. 2.2 oz. (62g) wt.

Fitting Challenges
60%
Several users mention difficulties with fitting the adapter onto certain Picatinny rails. Some report that while it fits tight on others, it can require extra effort, such as using a mallet. A common concern includes the inability to easily slide the adapter from the side, which can complicate installation.
Installation Process
50%
The installation process receives mixed feedback, with some customers noting the need for non-standard tools to secure the bolts, which can affect usability. The requirement to slide the adapter on from the end rather than rotating it is a limitation highlighted by many.
Compatibility with Bipods

Reviewers frequently commend the adapter's precise alignment for use with Harris bipods, which enhances functionality. The design approach shows consideration for bipod attachment aesthetics and functionality, boosting its appeal.
Weight and Space Occupancy

I WOULD BUY THIS UNIT AGAIN.
UNIT IS EXACTLY AS STATED, A BREEZE TO INSTALL AND THE MENTIONED OFF SET FIT PERFECTLY ON MY ARMALITE .308

TIGHT FIT
some rails this slides right on. the last rail I put it on had to use a plastic mallet to send it home. I don't have a problem doing this. I rather have it on the tight side than be loose.

The perfect match for Harris bipod
The YHM bipod adapter is perfectly tailored for the Harris bipod. The swivel stud that connects to the bipod is precisely located to center the base of the bipod when installed. Similar accessories has their stud located at the center of the adapter offsetting the position of the bipod when installed. This is a minor flaw and in no way affects the operation of the bipod. It does however affects the overall aesthetics. It goes to show that YHM did their homework when they designed this gadget. Great job, great price. Higly recommended. A QD version will be a great addition to this line up.

Yankee Hill Bipod Adapter
I use this to hold my Harris bipod to my M&P 15-22. This is a once piece clamping design that I was not able to loosen enough to slide the adapter onto the rail from the side so one has to slip it on from the end. This is its only limitation. It is well made, clamps tightly, works well in holding my Harris bipod solidly to the forerail and is of good quality manufacturing. It has two screw tighening which was important to me. I did not feel one screw was enough.

Bipod mount/ sling mount
Very solid steel mount that has double cross bars. Heavier than others and takes up more space.

Picatinny Bipod Adapter
Mounting on a picatinny front rail. Very solid block. Loose fit to rail. Bolts have unusual heads, not hex key or security keys so hard to secure without fabricating a special tool.

Not on just any rail
I like the idea of the product. Its solid if it can go on. I put it on a cheap plastic rail. I finally got around to free floating my AR with a YHM free float rail, yeah it does fit on its own rail products. It is possible putting it on the cheap rail cinch it down making it impossible to install on the aluminum one later, but I doubt it.

Did Not Fit My Picatinny Rail
This is a solidly made adapter milled out of a single piece of aluminum. It does not have a separate clamping bar, but appears to depend on a cut halfway through the adapter to give some "spring" to one side. However, it can't really be spread apart. It can not be installed by rotating it from the side over the rail, and it was too narrow to slide onto my rail from the end. I am returning this product for another after I talk to a Brownell's technician.
