Night Fusion’s Perfect Dot night sights for Springfield XD pistols come in two models: One model fits XD ®, XD(M) ®, and XD ® Mod 2™ pistols. The other fits the XD-S™, XD-E™, 9mm Hellcat™ (Excludes 9mm Hellcat OSP™).

Like all night sights, Perfect Dots use self-illuminating Tritium to get the "always on" glow with a difference: PDs have 30% more Tritium, so they are brighter than other night sights. The Tritium insert isn’t surrounded by a painted-on ring, but rather one made of a daylight fluorescing material that produces optimum visibility in daylight. The result is what the Night Fision folks have dubbed the "Perfect Dot". The Perfect Dot provides maximum visibility in both nighttime AND daylight conditions, so when the pressure is on, you’ll locate your Springfield XD’s sights more quickly and get them on target fast. The bright front sight contrasts well with the rear sight, encouraging fast, instinctive "Front Sight Focus" to keep your eyes on the target

Options include a choice of Square or U-shaped rear notch on the plain black rear sight, with a choice of Orange or Yellow outline around the Tritium front dot. "Clear" rear sight has a Tritium insert on each side of the rear notch; the absence of fluorescing surrounds ensures your eyes are still drawn to the front sight first. another failure

I wrote the other review documenting a failure. I have a set of NF on another gun of mine, and my wife's. Both of those have been good, so I gave one more shot at these, hoping it was a QC issue that had been resolved. Got these installed and within 10 rounds the orange polymer front ring had flaked off again. Absolutely terrible.

Front Sight Failed

I had these professionally installed in September 2018, and after around 3,000 rounds, I noticed in March 2019, that the orange part of the front sight had flaked/fallen off. Aiming takes a negative hit when the bright front sight decides it wants to leave the pistol. The gun is a bedside gun and does not see a holster. It's taken well care of. I contacted Night Fision and they sent out a replacement front sight, but did not answer my question if this was a known issue that had been resolved. Looking at online reviews (mostly forums) in May 2019 shows that other people have had the same failure. If you have a Springfield, you know that it's a good idea to have a gunsmith/professional install sights, unless you want a good chance of damaging the sights or pistol. While I'm glad they replaced the front sight, I'm not glad that I have to pay to ship my slide and sight (to XDMan) for the install. Not only do I lose that gun for roughly a week, I also have to spend $30. Night Fision did not reply to my inquiry about helping cover the cost of installation.
