Ortho Blue

24 years after purchase still works great
I bought a bottle of this 24 years ago to use on some gun parts. Today I had an old guitar part that was black, and it had rust on it. After I busted the rust it went from being black to a dull gray (metal showing through). I remembered I still had oxphoblue, and decided to give it a shot. Instantly brought it back to black. 24-year-old bottle. Unbelievable.

Ruger MK II
I am touching up some bluing on a 27 year old Ruger MK II that I bought used. Very small scratches need a 2nd coating. The front and back of the grip turns blue really quickly. I'm going to do the bottom of the receiver on my Browning BT-99 next. Economical bluing from Brownells.

OXPHO-BLUE
I restore pre nineteen hundred rifles. This is the first blue that works through minor rust. After rinsing and oiling rusty areas wipe clean and look good.

Old Western Auto
I have my dad's Western Auto/Mossberg 500, 20 gauge.
Wanting to show respect, I bought the blue. 2,000 grit sandpaper, acetone, and OMG, what a difference on the barrel and magazine tube.

Easy to use
Since I've never done bluing I was a little concerned about what results I would get. I followed the instructions and was surprised at the ease of use and the end results. Came out perfect.
