The Foreend and stock are in and off themselves great. Did not receive the correct retainer for the Mossberg 500 foreend.

Fore-end won't fit newer model 500.
The stock is nice, installation was easy. Apparently, my model is newer and doesn't have the matching hardware. Need to replace stock slide tube with 7-3/4", which are out of stock most everywhere. I wish the model years it works on would have been covered in the description. I do admit, I may have missed that.

The best ergos for Mossberg
Magpul always makes top quality stuff. The ergonomic design is perfect for the safety placement and letting you handle a shotgun with just your firing hand/arm. Knocking 1 star off because the stock requires some fitting if you want to remove your trigger assembly without loosening your stock. Mossberg's 500 series trigger assembly is held in with a pin, so there is no need for such tight tolerance.

Ordered this set for my 3 year old Mossy 500 (gold trigger). I had read the reviews saying that some fitting was required, along with the need for a 7 3/4" action slide tube (for the M-LOK Forend) , but wanted to try... I did need the longer tube (mine was the 6 3/4" originally). to correct that issue, I ordered the Houge 7 3/4" tube with tube nut ($10 to $15 less than the one from Mossberg), and it worked like a charm (using the original slide tube nut). The SGA Buttstock was an easier install, but be warned that the stock makes removal of the trigger group impossible without trimming the stock or loosening the mounting bolt. The write up says this kit is for the 500, but the forend box indicates it is for the 590/590A1, while the box for the stock includes the 500 as a model that it will fit. All in all, I love the finished product! Adjustable LOP, and feels better in hand. If you are willing to putz around a bit, you will have a very cool, and better handling gun. I believe the synthetic stock will hold up better when using the gun out in nasty weather!
M-LOK forend - mine needed fitting
The Magpul stock was an easy install. Remove old stock, install new stock. Mine was good as-is, and adding length of pull is a one screw change. The M-LOK forend did not want to go onto my old "big box store" version of Mossberg 500. I removed some material internally so it would fit onto my oddball action bar, and it looks and fits like it should. A replacement action bar is also available online, if you prefer.
