Great purchase! The stock fits the 20 gauge Maverick 88 youth model perfectly, and allows sufficient LOP adjustment to make the gun fit almost anyone fro kid to adult. The recoil reduction is a welcomed feature when shooting heavy buckshot and slug loads from this light gun. Definitely recommend this for anyone want to upgrade their budget shotgun.

Perfect Fit!

Fits my 835 perfectly!!

Excellent Piece

I was skeptical about the fit. However, this fit on my Westernfield 20 gauge perfectly.

Glad I Bought It

The included installation instructions are simple. Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, long flat blade screwdriver or socket with extension, 1/4" ball head Allen wrench (included in the kit). I wanted an adjustable LOP for my Maverick 88, and this adjusts (in steps) from 11-3/4" to 15-1/4". Recoil pad is a little more cushiony than on the original Mossberg stock. Also included is a 5-shell shotshell holder.

Best recoil reduction shotgun stock

This stock is highly recommended. Fitted on my Mossberg 590 it made it a 21st Century battlefield shotgun. It tamed the recoil anywhere from 30%-40%. Best taming spring design ever. *****

Fits

Because this stock is meant for either an 870 or a mossberg, it has a gap at the top of the pistol grip on a 500. Functions well, just a little ugly.

Nice, but Fitting Not So Great

This stock is a nice Replacement. I bought it to bring a little life to a Mossberg Maverick 88 (security edition, with 18" barrel and pistol grip). The installation was easy and quick. Even though the description said it would fit my gun, the Fitment wasn't exact. I made sure the stock was really tightened down because the fitting left a noticeable gap between the factory trigger guard and the upper inside of the hand grip of this stock. I was expecting a precise fit, but that wasn't the case. I can't even modify the setup any further to reduce the gap. However, it's not enough to make me return it or leave a bad review. If in the market maybe look at an OEM type replacement from Mossberg.
