Great mount
Best mount for forward scope mount on Mini 14.

Fits and Looks GREAT on my 5805 Ranch
Originally bought this to fit on the Promag Archangel Precision Rifle Stock but it doesn't 'fit' without a lot of custom 'fitting' - so I put it on the original polymer stock with no fuss or muss - gives it a M1A Scout Rifle 'look' to the Mini - I really like the 'look' and now my scope doesn't get hit by catapulting ejected casings ;-)

High quality, great fit
Great fit and finish! Theoretically, very little gunsmithing would be required, but my gas block screws were peened in place and wouldn't budge. I had no luck drilling them out because they are so hard, so I ended up running a thin hacksaw blade in the gap between the gas block and the handguard bracket and I was able to release it with no damage to anything but the screws. No biggie, because fortunately this comes with replacement screws. I really wish the front sling loop could be removed from the gas block because that would give me way more clearance to get to the screw heads. It comes with awesome illustrated instructions. Probably among the best and most detailed instructions I've ever seen. (Just one minor typo -- it comes with a 9/64" allen wrench, not 9/32") This fit my factory wood stock, Butler Creek synthetic stock, and my thumbhole stock perfectly. I had to modify my ATI folding stock because it has its own handguard so there's tabs along the edges for fit. I removed those tabs with a razor saw. The ATI handguard still holds firm because there's studs and screws in it, but I have no reason to use the ATI handguard with this in place. It looks great on my rifle. It doesn't have the awkward hood protrusion covering the operating rod. I'm not sure whether that will affect the reliability, but I'm sure it'll be fine. I haven't shot with this yet, but I'm really confident with its fit and finish that I'm sure it'll work fine.

best mini 14 mount
a high quality mount with perfect and very secure fitment, and very easy installation. When properly installed with the new supplied and Loctited screws, there will be no problems with it staying securely mounted for as long as you have the firearm. This sculpted mount also adds character to the fore end and has more than ample length for a wide range of sight placement. It is an expensive piece of kit, but it really is worth it.

Awesome Rail
This product replaces the black or wood fore-end top of the gun. The black one I had was cheap plastic. This rail is metal and secured around the barrel for a tight fit. The screws can be a little tricky so take your time but overall the installation took 20 minutes and all necessary hardware was provided (including the Allen wrenches). Im very happy with the improved look. The rail sits very close to the top of the barrel so it will be faster to come up on target and place shots where they need to go.

Great product
Ok, great job ULTIMAK! I have been looking for a superior rail for my mini 14 and you have solved this problem. I mated it with an accuracy system adjustable gas block/harmonic damper. Now my mini looks more like his big brother the M1A. Thank you!

Great fit for my 185 series
Installation could not have been easier. Only adjustment I had to make was moving the rear brace to the Mo-Rod barrel strut stabilizer on my weapon, 1/4 inch forward. Sturdy mounting system.

Nice rail
I purchased one of these about a year ago for my series 583. The M4S fits Ruger mini 14s with the newer tapered barrel. Makes the rifle look slick. I mounted a UTG slim riser on top of it and added a vortex strikefire 2 red dot. With this setup I can still use the iron sights and the red dot at the same time. Installation takes a little time. You have to remove the factory gas block Allen key screws that are a bear to get loose. Just take your time with these. If you strip one then you are out of luck. The M4S rail clamps around the bottom of the barrel also. The screws are fairly small that go into the barrel clamp. Don't forget to add a drop of blue thread lock when you re-install all the screws. Overall this rail looks awesome and is functional. No complaints here. Well worth the money.

Great buy
183 series dropped straight in, snug fit, IMMEDIATE improovement in accuracy, combined with the hogue stock I went from 5 inch groupings to consistant 2-3 inch groupings at 100 metres. NOT MOA but greatly improoved . Will now consider using the mini 14 for hunting.

Does not fit late model Mini-14s
Bought this to mount on my Mini-14 that I purchased in 2009. The handguard does not fit around the thicker tapered barrel found on newer Minis. Other than that, installation would have been pretty simple, and the quality of the machining is outstanding.
