MILITARY MODEL GRIP POD PICATINNY MOUNT

MILITARY MODEL GRIP POD PICATINNY MOUNT Reviews & Ratings

Dual-function vertical grip locks to the bottom accessory rail of your tactical rifle’s forend to give you enhanced control during CQB and a stable bipod rest for precise long-range fire. The grip’s hand-filling contours and deep grooves provide a solid purchase even when your hands are wet. Hit the large, deeply grooved release button, and a powerful spring deploys the legs instantly. Conveniently placed for thumb activation, the button sits flush with the surrounding surface to prevent accidental deployment. Extended legs provide sufficient elevation for a standard 30-round magazine to clear the ground, and will not snag on brush, vehicle interior, or other gear when retracted. Legs and grip are made of tough, injection-molded polymer; steel cross-bolt with easy-grip thumbscrew locks directly to any MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail to ensure a rock-solid fit. GPS-02 has steel inserts in legs for maximum strength in high-stress tactical operations.

SPECS: Reinforced polymer, Black. 6ј" (15.9cm) long with legs retracted. 8Ѕ" (21.6cm) high with legs extended. 13?8" (3.5cm) diameter. GPS-02 – Steel inserts in legs. 7.8 oz. (220g) weight.

From the beginning-Something to StandOn
I happened upon the GPS web site when these first came out and even before they made the LE model. I don't know if they still have the video up and available on this military model, but it shows the Owner of the company ACTUALLY STANDING ON A GRIP POD, {GPS-02 in today's terms} and I'd guess he was around 175 to 180 lbs. One reviewer says, don't drop your SAW with one of these on it, but THEN AGAIN, HE NEVER SAYS HE BROKE ONE EITHER. Hmmm?!?!? I purchased mine well before Brownells started carrying them and I really like the fact that you can UNSCREW the bottom ring of the pod to be able to clean it out from debris, sand, dirt or what have you. Re-lube the spring and some slight lube on the other parts and WHAM, it's like it just came out of a factory box. PLUS, Grip Pod Systems now have inserts that can be used with either the LE or the NSN versions to add one or two more Picatinny rails RIGHT ONTO the grip pod itself, meaning if you have a weapon light mounted ON your grip pod, you can take the pod off of your rifle and now you have a HAND HELD LIGHT that you can use for momentary light or simply clamp down on the reed switch and have a continuous beam of SUPER BRIGHT light as a handheld unit. DO NOT hesitate to get one of these, because as the saying goes, it's "better than sliced bread or napalm" ;-)

GRIPOD Systems
Awesome piece of gear, works great and is extremely durable. Highly recommended it for anyone interested in purchasing any type of vert grip.

Jack of all trades
The grip is a little long, and the bi pod don't pivot, but its lighter and easier to use than having both mounted separately. its strong enough for an m4, but if its on a saw don't drop it thinking the legs can take it.

Marine combat tested
This was issued to me in 2007 for use in Iraq with my M4. It is very tough and durable. I also liked the fact that the sides have a small flat surface which I used to mount the pressure switch to my tac-light. I have been trying to find a place to purchase one and never thought to look here! This grip is so much better than the other bipod grips out there.

GPS-02 Grip Pod
The Grip Pod made handling my AR15 easy and the legs make a great platform for prone shooting. I am very satisfied with this product.
