Great File
I got this file to serrate the ramp on a replacement front sight for an Anaconda that shot 8” high at 25 yards with the factory sight. It did a wonderful job!

40 LPI Checkering File
Nice quality. A little on the light side but would recommend it to anyone interested in checking metals.
Checkering file
VERY NICE FILE TAKE THE GLARE OF A VAQUERO STAINLESS STEEL FRONT SIGHT
Checkering file
I have used this file before. Used for checkering the front strap on 1911s.
For hand filing
I have had this file for only a week and have used it on pocket knives several times on steel, brass and copper. It was very effective on the softer metals, easy to control and produced consistent results. On harder steels more care was needed, and more effort. No chipped teeth on this one. So far I/m quite happy and looking for a 16 lpi.
Great file gets great results.
Use these files for checkering or cutting gooves. Used with the right tools or practice and experiance you will get great results. Very durable and do what they are entended to do. Dont be fooled because it is not a known file maker. Brownells is the only name you need to know and i have never used a brownells stamped product that wasnt as good or better then other brand names.
Perfect for checkering
These files work great for checkering anything you want to checker. Used with the right tools or just experiance and takeing your time you can get great results. If you use without guides be sure to take your time. Last thing you want is your custom pistol ending up with les then straight checkering. Very durable but buy a handle or make one to save your hands.
An Excellent Swiss made file
I bought this to try my hand at checkering the front strap of my 1911's grip. I have man years experience at working metal, but never tried checkering before. It come out great. The tool is outstanding. Very hard and precisly cut steel. Makes the cuts very quickly. When I was done it seemed as sharp as when it was new. So I'll get many many projects from it. I was very glad I got it.
Great Product
This is another great product from Brownell's. Used this file with the 1911 checkering guide (a must have!) to checker the front strap of my Delta Elite. The file cut fast and worked perfectly.
Simple & Quick
I used the file to serrate the back of a 1911 slide. With just a few minutes practice on the end of a 1 x 1 piece of bar stock I felt confident enough to proceed to the slide. The slide took only about 10 min., and looks great. It is really easier than the directions lead you to believe.
