Hammer Improvement
This spring reduced the trigger pull weight, but the best benefit was the reduction of effort to decock the hammer with a scope mounted. This spring made what was a somewhat hazardous condition much safer.

I've read where these springs can cause a misfire, maybe if your firing pin is dirty. I never experienced this. This little spring was easy to install and really makes a world of difference. I installed in my stock 39M now I'm ordering another for my 39A which already has been stoned can't wait.
reduces trigger pull
This hammer spring reduced trigger pull on Marlin 1895 stainless from 7.5 lbs to 4.5 lbs. The reduction in hammer strike caused no problems. The barrel shape causes the spring to arc outward in the middle which is ugly and may interfere on the stock when assembled. I would have much preferred a straight spring. Trigger pull would be decreased more with a Wild West trigger.
Lever is still too loose for me.
Juat received and installed the reduced tension hammer and lever plunger springs. Initial thoughts are the hammer and trigger pull are much lighter and crisper(especially the hammer), feels like it cut the trigger pull in half. The lever plunger spring on the other hand is a tad to light and i find it pops open semi regularly when loading rounds if I don't hold the lever down. It is a bit better than the stock one that i cut 1 to many coils off of. Hammer spring is definitely worth it, cut ONE coil off of your lever plunger spring and have fun. Would be 5 stars if the lever spring were a tiny bit stronger.
Didnt work for me
Installation is very easy on a Marlin 336, however the hammer spring caused numerous light primer strikes. Second strike wouldnt always ignite primer either. I went through three different brands of ammo and took my bolt apart to clean it. The light primer strikes didnt go away. I may have an out of spec spring. At this price you should at least try it if you want to smooth up the action and maybe you will have better luck with the hammerspring than I did.
Not right for a rebound trigger 39
Adding .10 was needed to get a good pin strike. Misfired at stock length. Rifle is in good clean condition with a free firing pin.
