Great tool

Works better than using a punch. What's better it's great to hold the cap in reinstalling the the spring in the housing. Solid tool.

Need vs. Handy to Have

Did I need this tool? Aren't there many other hand tools I could pull out of my drawer of punches that would work? In the end doing any repeated work on 1911 frames makes having this tool really handy. Even occasionally removing the pin w/o marring the finish makes this tool worth having.

Excellent Tool Design

Decided to use this tool after watching Brownell's and other YouTube Videos about replacing a plastic Mainspring Housing with a SS version on my Colt Gold Cup Trophy. Tool is a very good design and worked to perfection in my amateur gunsmithing adventure. No scratch on the bright SS pin during removal or re-install.
