This stripped M4A1 AR15 style Upper Receiver Group is built around a 14.5 inch Cold Hammer Forged M4 Profile barrel and a mid-length gas system. It features a 12.5 inch lightweight RIS III rail—modeled after the revolutionary RIS II two-piece handguard developed for SOCOM—features M-LOK attachment for lighter weight while still offering M203 grenade-launcher attachment.

Rust in the star chamber and rust on the barrel next to the gas block

I do understand that metal does rust but when a Daniel Defense item like an firearm or upper leaves the final stage of processing they give it a Quality Check Tag with the date and whom who looked it over. The rust could have been because of the foam in the box the upper shipped with and trapped in the sealed box while at DD or it could be Brownells fault. We living in the year 2026 why are we still using thing that trap mositure and no silca gel packet either?? Anyways I will try and get rid of most of the rust what i can and then I'll coat the rust areas with engine oil; NOT USED engine oil. My old man uses engine oil on his firearms and do not have a spec of rust. I do not recommend buying here at Brownells if you are in need of this 14.5in stripped upper. Buy from Daniel Defense or your local gun store.
