Perfect Addition
The M1A should have come from the factory with this scout mount. Ultimak did a great job with this and the quality is impressive. Installing was straight forward and the instructions also had done time and effort put into them. Very satisfied, and it looks great.

Excellent piece of kit
Great piece of kit, been waiting for these to be stocked back up and available. Mounted mine up with no fitting issues, mounted clean and easy and that was that. I have a Sig Romeo5 sitting up front and the rail is tight and maintains zero. Plenty of rail space for those who want to add other pieces of kit as well.
Sturdy and strong for optics.
Pros: built well and installation was easy. I did tighten a screw too tight and had to back it out. It was too stripped to put back in, called Ultimak, they sent me a complete set of screws just in case, no charge. Great customer service! Cons: I installed this rail and installed a nikon force eer pistol scope. This rail will slightly taper towards the muzzle and will slightly dip, hard to tell with the human eye. After sighting my scope in with this rail and gun, my scope could not adjust to the 100yard sight in, it was about 15 MOA above the crosshairs and my scope could no longer adjust it was maxed out on elevation. Had to buy scope shim kit to move h scope up 15 MOA. Other than the taper, well built rail ideal for red dots.

This is a well made, solid mount. It fits The USGI barrel I have perfectly. The outside contour blends well with the rest of the rifle resulting in an integrated look. The mount itself is about an inch and a half lower than most other traditional scope mounts making it a good choice for optic sights like Eotech. Mounting the mount will take you a better part of an hour if not longer depending on how mechanically inclined you are. The instructions are concise but a little difficult to follow but if you read them carefully and take your time you should have no problem. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the rifle shot better with the mount attached which came as a pleasant surprise as I was worried clamping something to the barrel would have an adverse effect. Overall well worth the high price.

Invaluable tool for the M1A/M14
This rail was recommended to me for replacement of the Springfield Armory scope mount. I have had this rail on for over a year with my Eotech 512. I doesn't get any better than this and I shoot alot, and hunt with it. I have recommended to my friends and they are extremely happy with this optic mount also. Easy to install,extremely hardy and heavy duty...and I would buy this product again.
Does not fit NM
The description says it will fit National Match M1As, but that is not correct at all. The heavy barrel extends far too long to even come close to fitting within this handguard.
