Well I finally got to shoot my frankenglock setup I have. Its a 8.75" lone wolf barrel threaded with their massive muzzle brake and a still 24lb ismi spring. I had a thousand of the older (discontinued?) Hornady truncated FMJ's I basically got for free through a deal I brokered. Getting components like starline brass during these times was almost biblical test of patience (I've been waiting over 8 months now for my larger backorder from them), but I finally got to test a small batch of them and those suckers... Pushed 1375-1400 fps (max) before showing pressure signs, This is with 230gn's. I CAN'T WAIT to try 200s and 185s. The best two groups were very accurate and with this setup (460 Rowland) it only kicked slightly more than my uncommp'ed 10mm long slide. Shooting max pressure 10mm 200gns are about the same recoil maybe even slightly more. Metered very accurately out of my redding 3BR rifle measure even at the lower throw weights. I didn't think it was too dirty like some have commented but maybe because 460R is higher pressure. I've only been reloading a few years so not as much experience, but have tried 7625, power pro, and maybe a few others. When you live the heart of the now crime ridden Puget sound area you have to think outside the box. Glock 20 with a 25rnd Kris's vector mag shooting 44 mag loads should keep the RIF RAF away, but they are ceaseless. I need to GTFO of here asap! I just recently pulled out my old 600jr I bought a decade ago and have never used and also recently finished reading the Lyman shotgun manual trying to get into custom made buckshot and cast slugs and if I had known it was SUCH a versatile 12ga powder too I would have definitely bought more (a lot more of the same lot) this is like my new wonder pill that fills almost all my needs. I have a Mossberg 500 and a saiga that once a make some new loads for I will have to report back. Just need some followers ;) Happy hunting! Reading the reviews I didn't know it worker for 9mm too, I'll have to try that out as I recently just ordered 3K HAP's.

For whatever reason, during the current almost total lack of reloading components, Longshot is available from a number of suppliers, including Brownell's. I use it for 20 and 28ga loads. Hodgon has recipes for all gauges except .410 and a lot of different shot weights from 3/4oz up. It is a bit "loud", thus its nickname "loudshot". It isn't the cleanest burning, but it isn't the dirtiest either. All in all, I'm glad to have it!

On top of being a great pistol powder giving top velocities, this is a excellent 12 gauge powder. Be it slugs, Buckshot, Heavy field loads, or just plain trap loads that need some extra velocities. Longshot powder is right up there with Blue dot on my bench......A LOT EASIER TO COME BY TOO. Always have Longshot in the powder cabinet!!!

I use this for 9mm Luger, 357 SIG, and 40 S&W. Its a great pistol powder and with a 8lb jug, I can load A LOT of those cases. It meters through my Lee auto-drum measure perfectly, to the point where my Hornady balance beam powder scale hits its zero with 4/5 throws and the off throw is just slightly off, probably a tenth a grain. Now it isnt the cleanest powder through a pistol, but that is due to the lower pressures it gives you, but its not that bad at all. In fact Hodgdon recommended starting load for 9mm is 5.0 grains for 115 grain bullet and even with 5.0 grains it has enough energy to cycle a G17 and lock it back. Itll leave you with smudged cases at that load, but thats due to lack of case pressure and not enough case obturation. So going up to 5.5 or near the max will be needed to get good case obturation. Just work your loads up until you have what you want. Anyways I love this powder, its not expensive, its versatile, and pretty well available. So get yourself a pound or better yet 8 and hit that bench and then the range.

There are some very good powder options for pistol shooting. I have found Long Shot gives great accuracy. More importantly, this powder gives low pressures for high velocity in the 40 S&W (according to Loading data). It also requires a volume that makes a double load very obvious to help reduce such occurrences. I also have used it in 38 and 357 with good results. Large flakes make it easy for charges to be repeatable. Does not get caught up in dispenser actions.

Longshot is a good powder. Are use it in my 45 ACP, 40 Smith & Wesson, 10 mm, and my 45 super. I get very good velocities with a reasonable amount of powder. It's clean and meters well. I would recommend this to a friend.
