ease of use...
They have worked well for me for decades!!! Every handloader should have one... Without one how are you supposed to QUICKLY find the distance from the bullets' ogive to the lands.

Hornady Modified Case
Great concept for accurate setup.
Quick and easy way to check seating depth vs barrel lands
Quick and easy way to check seating depth/max cartridge overall length.
Works well.
Adequate how ever it would be better if you use a once fired case.
Finding the lands!
Have several of these for different calibers. Helps me find the starting point for the best bullet seating depth.
Cant complain
I ordered this to save me the hassle of making my own. It works great and actually matches the measurements of my fired brass. I thought there would be variation, but good for me! Neck tension on Nosler and Barnes bullets has been ZERO so far, which isnt bad but a little could help. With the rifle barrel angled up, leaning on the bipod, it is very easy to measure chamber dimensions with the comparator tool.
Hornady Seating Depth Tool
The Hornady Length Gauge with these modified cases installed is a great way to find the maximum length a bullet can be seated for a given cartridge. Once that measurement is established, using bullet comparators along with a little experimentation, you can find the best seating depth for that bullet & cartridge combination. I have a modified case for all the different cartridges I reload.
