LEVER ACTION SPRING KIT for MARLIN LEVER ACTION

LEVER ACTION SPRING KIT for MARLIN LEVER ACTION Reviews & Ratings

High-quality, reduced power springs give the Cowboy Action shooter the advantages of a light, crisp trigger pull while reducing the effort required to cycle the lever assembly. Reduced power hammer spring replaces the heavy factory spring for improved trigger pull. Light, lever latch spring reduces latch pressure and friction for fast, easy cycling and quick follow-up shots. SPECS: Steel, natural finish. Hammer Spring - 1?'
(3.8cm) long. Latch Spring - 13/16' (2.1cm) long. Fits Marlin 39A/444/94/95/336 Series rifles.

Great product
I have installed several of these for hunting rifles and Cowboy action shooters

Big Improvement
Reduced power spring kit is very easy to install. Made a considerable difference, improvement. Safe test firing is essential. Latch spring is of no use for my vintage 39A. I'm happy with the improvement.

Excellent
This spring kit (along with the Wild West Guns "Trigger Happy Kit"also from from Brownels) really made the Marlin 1894 into a jewel. Action works almost effortless and "Butter Smooth" with no filing, fitting or fideling around! Straight forward installation with only a screwdriver and small punch required. If you know enough to strip your Marlin center fire, you can install these springs - and what a difference it made on the one I did! Great for SASS shooting!

Lighter spring tensiom caused me problem
You must consider the fact that a lighter hammer spring will result in lighter stikes on the firing pin and, hence, the primer. This caused me to have misfirers from soft strikes.

Nice
No fitting required install in my post Remington buy-out Marlin 336C. Vast improvement in the trigger pull when coupled with the Brownells 981-000-004WB Wild West Guns "Happy Trigger". Instructions are not included but step by step install go-by's are easily googled up.

Lever Action Spring Kit
Very easy to install. Trigger pull weight did not change.

Lever latch spring wrong size
Lever latch spring is completely wrong size and shape. (Look at the Wolf kit; it has the correct latch spring.) I haven't fired it yet, so I don't know if the lighter hammer spring is going to cause light strikes, but it did make the level a little easier to cycle. But it did nothing for the trigger pull weight-- I measured before and after.
