What a let down..

Received the scout mount for my brand new Marlin 1895G 45-70 and found the rail section to be of such poor quality and lightweight construction that it was curved along its length with a slight warp. The scope sits angled on the mount, regardless of the adjustments made at the dovetail left and right. XS has really dropped the ball with their QC process. Additionally, the screws and dovetail bolt are cheap aluminum that you'll be lucky to mount without damaging. I would have paid quite a bit more for a quality mount instead of this cheap piece of junk.

Deceptive product description

This mount will not fit a pre-64 M94. The description only says the rear sight dovetail must be 4" from the receiver. That's where the old M94 dovetail is, but the description doesn't mention the rear of the mount is attached to the receiver ring with screws. Only newer AE models have a factory drillled & tapped receiver ring. Also, the mount is designed to be permanently attached to the barrel with epoxy. There is no mention of thiis in the description. This is definetly not suitable for a collectible M94. The description should indicate the oinstallation is permanent and requires threaded mopunting holes in the receiver ring.
