Really helped D/A trigger pull. 100% reliable in my limited test firing.
Well worth the money
My trigger pull started out above 12lbs. I couldn’t get an accurate reading because that’s as high as my trigger puller went. When done I am now averaging in the low 6 pounds

I put 50 rounds a week through my DAO Centennial Airweight. It had an 8 pound trigger courtesy of a factory trigger action job. I was concerned that I might have light primer strikes with the 5 pound trigger after installing the Apex Tactical kit, but the supplied hammer and spring put my concern to rest. I've fired over 500 rounds after installing the kit with no failures to fire. As an engineer I'm impressed with the well thought out approach Apex Tactical took to develop the kit, it's worth every penny. I highly recommend it, you won't regret it.

Outstanding upgrade
After watching the tutorial video on the Apex website a couple times, tackling this upgrade was a piece of cake. It definitely reduced the trigger pull on my Smith 642 by 3 lbs if not a tad more. It fired everything I tried, Remington, Winchester, and Speer. Action is so much lighter. If you have ever pulled the trigger on a brand new Smith 642, you know how hard they are. My trigger scale maxes out at 11 lbs, and the pull exceeded that when new. Now it measures 9 to 9.5 lbs. It is a pleasure to shoot (except for +P because the gun itself is so light), and easy to keep on target. I don't think you should own a newer J frame Smith without installing this kit!
Super kit and great service
As always, great service from Brownells. This kit installs easily and made my DAO J-frame actually NICE to shoot. This kit lightens the trigger press by an easy 3 pounds, if not a little more. Hammer spring is also lighter BUT have total ignition. There are other J frame trigger kits out there but why waste your time. I've installed APEX kits in other firearms and have never had a poor experience. My only recommendation: If your J frame doesn't have overmolded finger grooved rubber grip, get one. Combined with this kit, my 642 is now a daily carry piece.
