HOMOGENIZED SOLDER

HOMOGENIZED SOLDER Reviews & Ratings

HOMOGENIZED SOLDER

The Brownells Homogenized Solder is a versatile solder-in-flux solution tailored for gunsmithing applications. It effectively joins most ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including stainless steel, with the exception of aluminum and magnesium. The unique homogenizing process prevents solder and flux separation, allowing for packaging in syringes for precise application and reduced waste. Post-soldering, the flux residue cleans up easily with warm water.

Not a good product for non steel components
Soldering is easy: Flux, tin, flow by capillary action into the joint. Temp indication on this however is extremely lacking. Therefore, when using you are not sure of the temperature because it never visibly flows in parts that are pocketed or have a hidden joint. With normal solder you heat until you get flow and you know the temp is adequate. with this you do not until you are well past that temp and only if you have a large enough qty of the material pre-applied. All in all, probably OK for a steel sight ramp. Not at all appropriate for a sweated joint.
