HE508T-X2 REFLEX OPTICAL SIGHT

The HE508T-RD X2 is a hard-use open reflex sight designed for handgun applications. Features include a grade 5 titanium housing with industry standard footprint, Holosun’s ultra efficient 650nm Red Super LED with up to 50k hour battery life from a 1632 battery, and a Multi-Reticle System providing 2MOA dot only, 32MOA Circle only, or Circle-Dot combination.

HE508T-RD X2 also features Solar Failsafe and Shake Awake technology, and Lock Mode which, when activated, can prevent inadvertent setting changes. HE508T-RD X2 feature 12 intensity settings, two of which are compatible with night vision devices.

Solar Failsafe™

Solar Failsafe Technology is one of many innovations featured on solar-equipped Holosun optics. With Solar Failsafe, if your battery fails you always have a backup power source when natural or artificial light is available. Solar Failsafe is activated while in Auto Mode where reticle intensity is automatically adjusted based on the amount of light the solar cell receives. In brighter conditions you have a brighter reticle and in lower-light conditions the reticle will step down in intensity to match any lighting conditions. On models equipped with a super capacitor, it is possible to run the optic, indefinitely, in daytime and night conditions, by maintaining a charge through the Solar Failsafe System all without a battery.

Shake Awake™

Shake Awake Technology is a standard feature on all current model Holosun optics and serves to extend battery life by deactivating the optic’s LED while not in use. A highly sensitive motion sensor works to detect motion keeping the LED powered on during use. This allows for duty or concealed carry with seamless operation throughout your day or shift. At the end of your day or shift when your firearm is stored, the motion sensor will detect a motionlessness state and after 10 minutes (default setting) Shake Awake Technology powers the LED off until motion is again detected. Shake Awake offers settings from 10 minutes to 12 hours depending on the model and can be deactivated altogether if preferred. The slightest touch of the optic instantly reactivates the LED so your Holosun optic is ready when needed.

Multiple Reticle System

Multi-reticle System (MRS) equipped Holosun optics allow you to determine the type of aiming point you want to use when you want to use it. Holosun optics equipped with MRS let you select a fast sight picture for shorter distances with a 65 MOA circle with 2 MOA dot (rifle optics) or a 32 MOA circle with 2 MOA dot (handgun optics). The large circle can help you obtain a sight picture faster, allows for a hold-over reference, and helps to guide your eye to the 2 MOA dot. The large ring can be deactivated leaving just the 2 MOA dot for an uncluttered sight picture and increased precision. Regardless of your application, Holosun’s Multi-reticle System offers the ultimate in optical sight customization for sportsman and professional users alike.

Multilayer Reflective Glass

Holosun’s use of Grade 5 Titanium in certain Elite category optics and laser devices results in unparalleled strength and durability. Holosun Grade 5 Titanium has more than double the tensile strength and has five-times the fatigue strength of 7075 Aluminum. Grade 5 Titanium is also able to withstand the corrosiveness of seawater making Holosun Titanium model optics and lasers suitable for use in maritime environments.

Titanium Housing

Holosun optical sights and magnifiers are manufactured using optical-quality glass lenses with multilayer coatings applied to facilitate maximum light transmission and wear resistance while reducing glare and facilitating reduced power requirements versus the competition. Holosun’s highly reflective coatings produce industry-leading reticle intensity, clarity, and battery efficiency.

Revision and Edit of My Review of 4/12/23

Brownells Customer Service same through and replaced the unit immediately. They had no immediate explanation as to why the original one I received came with the wrong tool and no silicone crystal desiccant. I know from the research of others that the 508T X2 is amongst the finest MRDS made and like it for its rugged durability, multiple reticles, manual brightness control and lock-out option in addition to its automatic brightness mode. RMR footprint, long battery life (50K), Shake and Wake and side-loading CR1632 battery are desirable features. Brownells continues to be the First Class Company that it has always been!

Budget rmr with quality to match

If you're looking for a great value option for an optic, the Holosun 508T is definitely worth considering. It's an affordable alternative to the RMR that doesn't skimp on quality. The reticle is clear and the red dot is precise, making target acquisition a breeze. The build quality is solid and the optic offers a solar panel and battery backup for added peace of mind.

Little Tank

This makes my gun look very cool. I bought a patch of bad ammo which made my gun jam a lot, I have to use the mortar method using the Holosun to be able to get the slide back to I can clear the jammed brass. I've done that around 20 times (I'm not talking about a gentle smash, I literally use a table, a tree, rock and smash/mortar that red do) and it's still working. It's easy to use, accurate groupings. When you increase the brightness, the dot does get a little bigger, not an issue overall. The buttons are small, it's fine when you press one button but when you try and push both buttons to power off, you'll have to use two hands/finger to do that.

Rmr killer

I mounted this to my glock 19 mos with a c&h precision defender plate. The fitment is great. The look is great. The reticle is great. I love this thing. We'll see how good it is on battery life in the upcoming months. This optic gives you everything the rmr does, and MORE. Side battery compartment, shake awake, multi-reticle, and titanium housing, all at a lower price than a rmr.

robust budget duty

I wanted a red dot that will hold up if dropped, or if things get chaotic, my specific units fit and finish was pretty sloppy, and wouldnt be surprised if it was a return. rmr was my first choice but twisting and torquing those mounting screws every year to swap batteries was a big turn off, this 508t performs flawlessly, for me performance will always out weigh appearance I do not regret my choice, in spite of it being manufactured by a slave labor force. If you dont agree, you may want something else. Brownells is awesome and you can trust their business

Great optic

Purchased this with Brownells RMR slide for red-dot pistol LEO class. This optic ran great never lost zero. Shot approximately 1000 rounds during this class. During one hand/arm manipulation drills worked the slide using the optic against boot-heel, duty-belt and barricade and the red-dot stayed solidly attached.
