What Reviewers Are Saying
Product Quality
65%
Many reviews highlight the high-quality construction of the guide rod assembly, especially in comparing it to the OEM plastic versions. Users appreciate its durability, particularly the stainless steel material, which avoids issues like breaking that may occur with plastic parts.
Performance Issues
40%
Several reviews mention problems with feeding, particularly when using lighter 115 grain ammunition. These failures can be critical, as some users noted that the stiffer spring impacted the gun's cycle, leading to potential reliability concerns in real-world situations.
Installation and Fit
55%
Most customers found installation to be easy, although some noted the assembly was stiff initially and required a break-in period. Importantly, reviewers emphasized ensuring compatibility with their specific Glock models to avoid fit issues.
Noise and Break-In
30%
Some users experienced noise from the assembly during the initial use, attributed to the spring rubbing against the guide rod. However, this was typically resolved after a period of break-in, with the sound diminishing over time.
Value for Money
60%
Many reviewers felt that the product provided good value for its price, particularly in comparison to OEM parts. The perceived improvement in performance and reliability justifies the cost for those looking to upgrade their Glock.
5 stars pleased
Will continue to update my firearms with this company thanks for your great service
Replaced my Glock recoil spring
Installation was not too difficult. Took my Glock where it performed perfectly.
Works Great
I've used the OEM guide rods that have the polymer guide rod inside and honestly they work really good for what it is I have upgraded to the stainless steel rods I don't know that I really noticed the performance difference in either one to be honest I just know that the obviously the stainless one will last a long long time where the polymer needs to be replaced cause this technically a throwaway part when it goes.
Excellent upgrade
This is a great upgrade or replacement for the OEM plastic gen 3 guide rod and spring. I installed this on a polymer 80 9/40v2 frame, with zafiri precision barrel and slide (Glock 17 models), after the OEM guide rod broke and shot the spring across the garage. As long as your guide rod channel is shaped appropriately, this will fit. It will work, but ultimately final quality control is on YOU. If you're replacing this on a Glock made frame, barrel and slide you should have no problems with fit as long as your model is compatible with the guide rod. Some good things about this: it smooths out slide function a bit as the plastic rods in my experience grind or bind. It does have an Allen head screw to replace the recoil spring with after market options (comes with a 17 pound spring pre-installed but 15 to 20 pound springs are available to tune your rig). My finance is able to operate the slide much more easily with this guide rod and spring than other pistols. Some bad things: the bad isn't really bad as nit picky. It is loud and will be until the spring breaks in. You can make it a little more quiet with grease, but it will eventually break in and not be to noticeable. The guide rod and screw are stainless steel, and if you're trying to color match to the barrel and slide you may have to cold blue and something to make it match how you want. Installation is stiff, but it's a brand new spring. Overall first time quality on this product is great. It does what it's designed to do. Make the gun function. It's worth the 25 dollars to make the upgrade. Especially if your OEM guide rod is old and losing function.
Great product
Put this in my gen3 g23c. The original recoil spring was not giving me any problems , but after thousands of rounds, I figured I would change it out due to my 23c being my edc.
Nice upgrade
Used in Glock 19. Steel rod offers slightly smoother cycle and little extra weight forward which I like. Have used in two other 19s and will again.
Appears great
I bought this as an upgrade. Fired about 50 rounds though it. Everything seems fine.
Problem solved
My 7 year-old G21 was failing to enter battery at times when shooting. The recoil assembly looked OK, but I could find no other reason for the malfunction. This replacement assembly immediately solved the problem.
Great product
Great product I have in other Glock 19 but this one was for a Glock 17, too long for Glock 19 even though all packaging indicated use for Glock 19. Had to return.
Highly recommended upgrade
Absolutely takes recoil and adds weight to balance out. Metal guide rod wont snap under pressure, very good addition to carry or duty or competition firearm.
