FIBERGLASS TANK

FIBERGLASS TANK Reviews & Ratings

Tough, molded, rigid, fiberglass tanks are the perfect containers for rust remover, dipping oil, plating acids, rinse baths, plating solutions (using an immersion heater) and just about any other chemical you might use in the gun shop. The corrosion-resistant polyester formula used in making these tanks for us offers the highest chemical resistance - in fact, so resistant, it is considered inert to most substances! Heavy-duty, top-quality construction, using finest materials. Has rolled edges for strength, plus makes nice fingertip grip for easy carrying. Flat bottom stands level. Fiberglass won't crack, craze, melt, flex, wobble, react or bleed. Smooth, hi-visibility, off-white interior. Temperature safe to approximately 300° F., but do not use over direct heat source; use immersion heaters only. SPECS: Outside is 8' (20.3cm) x 36' (91.4cm) x 6' (15.2cm)
high. Inside at bottom is 4-7/8' (16.5cm) x 31ј' ( 81.3cm);
at top is 6-3/8' (17.8cm) x 34ј' (89.0cm). Do not use for
long-term storage.

Fantastic product
I bought 6 of these, I heat Dicro clean in them, don’t need steel or stainless. I did get 1 that was damaged on a corner and leaked! Not a problem I fiberglassed it and it works fine. If you do this make sure you sand the jelcoat to get a tooth, and the glass will adhere fine.

Fiberglass Tank
First Tank I received was green and had a massive crack in the middle of one side due to poor packing and rough transport companies. Contacted Brownell's and after sending pictures of the damage, a replacement tank was shipped to me no charge. I did receive the second tank. It was white, and it had a one inch crack on the very top edge due to the rough handling again by transport people. The crack will not affect the tank usage and I advised the manager I did not want another tank sent. This damage can be remedied by using a more robust box with internal support to hold the contents more rigidly. Still the companies that deliver these boxes hold the blame for such damage because they are very rough on the boxes during processing and Brownell's has no control over the rough handling during transport and delivery. Brownell's is still a very good company to deal with and I will continue to purchase items from the company. Thanks, Joe.

Only lasted 10 plus years w/daily use...
Great value - my first set of tanks were used daily for 12 plus years - used the tanks for post treatment oil and water cooling when Parkerizing - we are a manufacturer of firearms

Good buy
Purchased for blueing. Well made item. With is spot on but as another reviewer stated Brownells needs to make a longer version. 42 inch should be the standard on these tanks

Great in fact essential except too short
Think about this for minute... you got a 40" long bluing tank for a reason. It takes most all barrelled actions with to 26" or 28" barrel. But you have post or pre- treat fiberglass tank that is only 36" long. Guess what? more than once I have had to use plastic wrap in an empty bluing tank for acid pre blues because the fiberglass tanks weren't long enough. So - my recommendation to Brownells is make one that is at least 40" or 42" long.
