Stays where you put it
Have been using Slip2000 products including EWL, Extreme Weapons Grease, and Gun Lube for years. Work great in all my pistols, rifles, and shotguns. With 10's of thousands of rounds of history with these lubricants I see less wear of the finish on points of contact and it makes cleaning faster and easier. Have used the EWL and the EWGrease on my AR pattern rifles and other semi auto rifles of various designs. Only issues I've had is the EWL slings off and gets on my safety glasses during firing and while stored it migrates and oozes out of the gun. Bought the EWL30 and tried it on a CETME L from Hill & Mac and it worked great! Kept the action well lubricated, didn't migrate while stored, and didn't sling off the action and get on my face. Will start rotating it into my other rifles and see how it does long term.
Wipe off all carbon with a rag
Disclaimer: my bolt carrier group is chromed, not milspec parkerized steel, I do not know if Id get the same results with a milspec parkerized steel bolt carrier group. I tried this high end lube for my Rock River Arms AR-15. I found the claims about this product are true and I was pleasantly surprised. Carbon literally wipes off the bolt, including the bolt tail, with a paper towel!!!! And the carbon wipes off the bolt carrier with paper towels and for hard to reach areas, with Q tips and the usual pipe cleaners. Ive never used a lube on my AR-15 that did not leave some carbon on the bolt and inside the bolt carrier, until I used this product. And Ive used a lot of the AR CLPs and AR specific lubes. Using this, I have said goodbye to scrubbing with toothbrushes, using solvents to clean the bolt and bolt carrier and other PITA AR specific gun cleaning activities. Its this simple: wipe off dirty EWL 30 with a paper towel, reapply new EWL 30 and reassemble the bolt carrier group and put it back in your AR. Done. Never experienced that with other gun lubes or gun cleaners or CLPs. As for other positive things about this product, it did not burn off nor evaporate nor did it drip off the bolt even after my AR was stored standing on its buttstock (vertical barrel pointing up) for over a month!!! It also has no noxious smell or odor to it. Probably a good lube if you use your AR15 or AR10 for hunting due to the lack of smell. I almost always do my gun cleaning and lubing outdoors, however I realize some guys do that in their basement or garage. If you dont live on a farm like me and have to do gun maintenance inside, this would be a good product. EWL 30....use this stuff on the AR upper, specifically use it for the AR bolt and bolt carrier and inside the upper receiver. I also use EWL 30 on the pins on the lower receiver that connect the lower to the upper receiver. The above being said, I believe this product is overkill for non gas operated rifles or non semi-automatic rifles. I see this product as a premium AR-15 or AR10 rifle lube or CLP, really good for rifles with dirty internal gas systems like the AR style rifles. I will be buying more of this stuff.
Great protective lubricant!
I received a free sample pre-soaked with Slip-2000 paper towel with my last order from Brownell's. I liked it so much that I ordered the 4 oz. bottle of EWL 30. As stated in the previous user review, it is virtually odorless, It really stays in place on actions and also stays in place when applied to the surface of the firearm for protection. Also, this may seen trivial, but the bottle has one of the best applicator tips of any lubricant that I have used thus far, and the bottle doesn't leak. I would totally recommend this product to other shooters. Great product!
Great Stuff!
I used to use a light grease on the bolts of bolt action rifles until I discovered Slip 2000 EWL 30. It is the best thing I've found for lubing a rifle's bolt. It makes a bolt run like grease lightning! I also like it for use on the outside of a firearm for rust prevention. It seems to stay in place and not run off. It doesn't seem to have any odor, which keeps my wife from complaining.
EWL 30 vs EWL
Did a run test (not scientific) of using Slip2000 EWL and Slip2000 30. Shook up both bottles, placed one drop of each on a plastic surface (both drops side by side) raised up the plastic surface. I watched them both run down the plastic surface. The Slip2000 EWL ran slower than the Slip2000 EWL 30. Did not expect this at all. Thought that the Slip2000 EWL 30 was suppose to be thicker and would run a lot slower than the EWL.
