ENHANCED EJECTION PORT COVERS FOR AR-15

ENHANCED EJECTION PORT COVERS FOR AR-15 Reviews & Ratings

The Enhanced Ejection Port Cover is a drop-in upgrade designed to provide an improved installation process, physical strength, and corrosion resistance over the standard USGI ejection port cover. Traditional stamped-steel ejection ports are malleable, prone to corrosion, and require tools to install. The Enhanced Ejection Port Cover snaps into place easily without having to remove your hand guard or barrel nut, wind any loose springs, or adjust small e-clips. Constructed of impact-resistant injection molded polymer, it is corrosion resistant and will not bend or deform from impacts.

Disappointed
I have use the Strike Industries UDC for years, both for the better seal over the steel port covers and to prevent the damage to the lower from the opening smacking into it. These strike units have been great, so I expected an improvement by Magpul. I tried to put onto several Aero uppers without success, something my Strike units have had no problem with usually. Magpul sells these a tad cheaper than Strike, but the two I bought just didn’t work. Brownells sells the Strike UDC thankfully.

More of the same it seems
Poor fit from the get go. Took way to much force to operate. See other 1 and 2 star reviews.

A rare Magpul disapointment.
This is a rare Magpul failure. It is not a drop in replacement; at least not for me. I had ordered three units, but I started and stopped at doing one AR15. Out of the box the upper edge/ribs got hung up against the receiver and would not open without manual assistance. This would be an express train to jam city. I had to sand down the top edge slightly, and I had to completely sand down the ribs along the top spring area to make them flush. Once I removed enough material it operated freely (and properly). As an unapologetic Magpul fanboy, I really wanted these dust covers to work. But based upon my experience I will be stopping at one. Better to leave the original dust cover in place than deal fitting issues. I hope my pictures are helpful. Pictures: 1 - Two versions of the dust cover. 2- Close up of the original out of the box cover 3- The sanded and now fully functional Magpul dust cover I hope this helps.
