the best I have shot for hunting

I have hunted white tail deer with these bullets for several years and have found them to be extremely accurate and extremely lethal out of a 30-06 Ackley Improved. I have had no issues with jacket separation or lack of expansion. Great bullets! I read the previous review on these bullets and feel the need to point out that these are 200 grain ELD-X, but the previous reviewer based his review on 220 grain ELD-X bullets.

Got to the range today to test some reloads. Easy to reload. Shot great. Found a load easily.

Happy with the product. Happy to have found some. Not happy about the price boost. Customers will remember who took advantage when we get past all the shortages.

I reload these for myself and the rest of my family, plus a few buddies. I use these exclusively in every caliber I own / reload for. Amazing performance on every deer / elk we have taken from 77 yards to 332 yards. Most have dropped within 50 feet. Farthest went 42 yards. We have only recovered 3 of the bullets, and they all had 88%+ weight retention. No bullet works perfectly every time, but we have yet to have a failure with this one. Most shots are behind shoulder, 7 have been high shoulder.

I use these 178g ELD-X bullets in a custom chambered .30-06 with Bartlein Barrel. I run these 178g ELD-X bullets at 2,950 fps in the custom chamber with absolutely no pressure issues. These bullets shoot great on the competitive courses and have absolutely no trouble ringing steel to 1,300 yards plus. These bullets have provided consistent one-shot stops on elk and deer inside 700 yards. The jump for these bullets is very forgiving, making reloading a breeze. The barrel cleans up with about four patches.

Factory Remington 700 XCR 300 RUM GEN 1 with a 26 barrel, 220 grain ELD-X, 78 grains IMR4350, Remington 9-1/2 MAG primer, Remington brass and COAL set @ 3.625. Velocity is 2920 at 6,000 ft and zeroed @ 200 yds dead on with a Vortex Viper PST GEN ll SFP 5x-25x50mm a EBR-4 reticle, a Murphy precision stainless 20 MOA rail and seekins precision low rings. After breaking in my barrel and cleaning it after every shot for 50 rounds I finally shot a 3 shot string and ended up with a 0.23 center to center, cleaned it and duplicated it again but just a hair bigger at 0.30. satisfied I then cleaned it to bare barrel removing all copper and made a 10 shot string swabbing for powder residue only and cooling off the barrel between shots with my magneto chronograph got an ES of 12 FPS... the wide spread must be due to my old RCBS beam scale. I deliberately took longer shots from 200 yds and out to 730 yds on Texas axis deer. In the 20 animals I shot in a month all dropped dead except 1 which ran about 80 yds. He was about 175# and about 300 yds when I took a shot from behind (Texas heart shot) as I wanted to see the penetration and if it could stop him instantly. Boy was I wrong!! Although there was a massive blood trail and soup for his internals I will never take this shot again. The whole side of his hind quarter was inedible because of the stomach contamination and bruised even his back straps. Pieces of lead and copper was evident all the way to his front shoulder where the cup and core ended up. It didnt separate but shed about 40% of its weight devastating but at the cost of a lot of meat. This bullet is a straight up killer. Ive only found 3 bullets in a mushroom shape similar to a Hornady SST the rest Of the bullets had gone completely through leaving holes the size of a quarter to a softball. Massive bruising on both ends of the wound channel, entry & exit. Shattered front shoulder bones and neck/spine bones. Wind drift was minimal even with 20-30 mph winds at the extended distances. I was going to try the 212 ELD-X but the gain in velocity and higher BC wouldnt make a difference until past 1000 or so yards. I didnt think it was worth the trouble to play with them as the gain/effort ratio would be cancel itself. I know its a super long review but this testing took months and a lot of effort. I just wanted to share my experience in a detailed manner. Hopefully it can help someone with their load development or set up. Thanks for reading!!

I tried this bullet in a 7mm mag with a 1-9 twist and couldnt stabilize it after 200 yds. I kept the box to try it in a 28 Nosler 1-8 bartlien barrel. Spectacular results @ 3.65 and 86 grains retumbo. Sub 1/2 MOA at 100 yds out to 560 with minimal wind drift. Super happy with the results as I got a nice axis buck at 227 yds, beautiful exit wound with not much damage to the meat and a axis doe at 80 yds with exact results. Came home with a pack that was almost too heavy with all that meat, cape and horns. Hope to get an animal past 500 in the near future as Im curious to see how it performs.
