CUSTOM HEX STRIKER FOR GLOCK GEN 3/4 9M
I have just under 300 rounds on this Brownells firing pin in a Brownell's Glock 19 slide on a P80 Compact frame. Primarily using steel case ammo with hard primers. Not a single light-primer strike or failure to fire. No problems with installation or fitting, fits just like a Glock OEM firing pin.
Good so far
Only 200 rounds I but good so far. Dropped right in without any issues.
Solid
Installed ran about 300 rounds with Winchester and CCI primers no problems.
Excellent replacement
Used this in a full P80sc build w/ custom aftermarket slide. All other internal parts are Shadow System. It works flawless. Runs like a Glock on Steroids! And MUCH nicer looking.
Drop in, works.
Saw the negative reviews so I measured it out. Identical to the Glock part. Installed it, went to the range, put 150 rds through it, no issues. I'd buy another.
Good quality but
Quality is good, but needs hand polishing on striker sear interface area.
Not Reduced Weight, as advertised.
I cannot give a functional review yet, but I can comment on misleading description / advertising for this striker. The information states, "The hex design reduces weigh". Well, since the factory striker weights 0.26 oz and this striker weight 0.25 oz, I SUPPOSE the description is literally correct, but , practically speaking, it is incorrect and misleading. 1/100th of an oz is not reduced weight. So, I cannot recommend this for a reduced-weight striker. Functional review to follow.
Does NOT Gen 3
Not sure if I received the wrong part but this does not fit Gen 3/17 slides. The actual firing pin is about 25 degrees off of top dead center compared to an OEM part.
Absolutely would not fit or function
Installed this in my brownells g17 slide after a glock factory tip snapped off. The tip was machined at such a bad angle that it would not set off a single round. When I pulled it back out of the slide it had severe wear marks on the tip on the top right and bottom left. I dont think it was machined properly.
Too short
The striker tip is simply too short. When compared to several OEM Glock firing pins, the length of the tip is just slightly shorter. When I used this item with all OEM Glock components in a Glock slide, it produced light strikes in every single round, Too bad considering it looks great, and appears to be well manufactured.
