Magna-tip browning screwdriver set
All included bits fit correctly. Used the 240-1 bit on receiver screw. Fractured while using. Ordered two replacements.
Correct size but very soft
The bits came as advertised and were sized correctly to fit the specific screw heads. However, one screw was stubborn enough to bend one bit and break another bit. Material strength and integrity of the bits are sub par.
Fit slots on screws
The screwdriver bits fit the slots, but due to the ultra thin dimensions are very easily broken. I have broke 2 of the four bits within the first week of receiving them.
Smallest of the set doesn't fit A5 Lock screws
Smallest of the set doesn't fit A5 Lock screws. Other drivers work well.
Tang Screw Bit Too Thin
I've got several sets of Auto 5 bits for different sources, to include some ground myself. Tang screws are the reason for this, especially on the Miroku Auto 5's. I was disappointed to find that the bit for a tang screw was ground to 0.025". Grace grinds to 0.030" although I've received some as thin as 0.028". I grind my own to 0.031" and they have worked well. I bought these hoping to find a good bit that was easier than grinding myself. Guess I'll keep grinding the tang screw bit myself. Other than that, bits appear good quality.
Browning Bits
I know these are ground thin but I twisted the end off the small bit trying to get the first screw out. They do fit perfectly .
Surprised these mild-steel bits are made in the USA
Marred a lock screw when the smallest bit deformed and warped right out of the drive. I'm fortunate that none of the screws on my 1950's light twelve were very tight from the factory. If you have a Japanese A5 like my brother-in-law you'll absolutely need hardened-steel bits, or you will most certainly mar your screws. On the upside, this set is fairly inexpensive and will work in a pinch.
A5 screwdriver kit
One bit seemed to work on all screws on my a5. The only criticism I would have is that the width was exactly the same as the width of locking screw, leaving no clearance with the inset of the screw. Scraped the inside edge on some due to the close tolerance. Luckily I had some oxpho blue. The tip lasted through this job but was was visibly stressed, on the verge of bending. Not sure if it would be possible to be that thin without showing some wear. Did the job, wish the bit set would have been in stock.
Small tip 210-1 broke pretty quickly.
Thin blade used to loosen screw that hasn't been turned in years will break. Next time I will start with heat. You really have to have this set or you WILL damage the screw heads. These are the right tools for the A5. At this price I just bought a couple sets which I do recommend.
