Shoots great.
Shot my 10.4 BRN-4 upper for the first time today. Put a few hundred rounds through it, no issues. Worked great with my FRT-15L3 trigger in my PSA M4 lower.

Newest BRN-4 Upper (Refresh)
So I have the latest version of this upper. I had one of 1st ones and it had some machining marks and some other issues. Brownells stood by the product and I received this one (10.4, med profile, chrome barrel) and I must say I'm impressed. The machining marks are almost completely gone. My 1st one had a fitment issue that has been resolved, and it runs like a sewing machine. It is slightly heavier than a traditional AR, but that's to be expected with a piston system. All in all, a great upper that I expect to get years of enjoyment out of.

Great Product
Great product, the BRN4 10 inch upper with chrome barrel is fantastic. I shot several hundreds round and boot one issue. Recoil is nothing, this is heavier than a DI gun, but this is the standard reliable gun I wanted.

solid copy, only the worst of HK snobs can spot the difference
5 stars because it's exactly what you want for a price that isn't ridiculous. This upper is also capable of being used on full auto unlike the MR556 which is less like an actual 416 than this upper. If you ever wanted a facsimile to the 416 so you could actually use it, this is your best bet outside of maybe that one other upper clone maker.
BRN-4
The machining of the upper is terrible. Other than that it’s a solid upper. Installed on my lower and fired about 500 rounds through her and she ran flawless! For the price point it’s a solid upper. If you’re looking for a flawless machined upper this is not for you. It doesn’t bother me. If the machining was better this would’ve gotten 5 stars.
Does not fit on “any standard AR15 lower”
I was really excited to get this in after being backordered for like 6 months. Bought a BCM lower, which is pretty standard. The upper and lower do not align. I can either get the front pin in or the rear pin, but not both, even with a significant amount of force. So I guess now I’m out $450 and will have to buy another lower? Disappointed is an understatement.
Machining is not great
The machining on the upper is really not great. When the price of Brn 4 stripped upper is 299.99 and a MR556 is 345.99 just buy the individual parts and build it yourself. Was really excited to open up the BRN-4 box just to see a horrible looking upper. Gas block also had crack marks from when they were hammering the pins. It looks like this one passed QC. I am going to have to salvage the upper and replace most parts to real HK parts.
