Perfect fit
This fit perfect, and gives the rifle a better "retro" look. This is much closer to look of what these rifles had back in the day. It should have come on/with the rifle. Either way if you have one of the BRN-10A rifles get this.
I like it!
I installed this on my 1997 AR-10A4. At first i thought there would be a problem. I got the caliper out to measure, thinking my rifle was larger than spec. It is not. The grip about .015 narrower. No fitting was required, I installed using a small rubber mallet. The selector detent and takedown pin detent spring were not problematic with installation. I find this grip very comfortable. Much better than the A2. It has a unique look as well.
Very glad Brownells made this available!
My BRN-10A came out of the box with Brownells A1/601 skinny pistol grip (which feels better in my hand) but I was thankful to get this convincing replica of an AR-10 grip. Installation was tricky (as on other billet lower receivers) because two detents and springs are captured by the pistol grip instead of the usual single detent spring on a forged receiver. The extra spring kept bending over but I finally got both springs to collapse properly. If you have a BRN-10 put one of these on backorder while you can. Get some waffle mags too!
Looks great!
It's a tight fit like most all pistol grips. I almost always use a rubber mallet to tap them all on. Looks really good and I really like the smooth contour.
Great retro look, feels great too!
I recieved this grip from Brownells after I had purchased a BRN10A that came with the A1 style grip. I was very pleased by this and thank Brownells for taking care of us that purchased the BRN10 before more Retro correct parts came into production. It looked great in the box but I was unsure about the feel, since I have come to really like the A1 grip which to me is super comfortable. The instalation wad as simple as it could possibly be. The fit was good and tight, and once on the rifle I was blown away with how comfortable the grip was. It fills the hand well. It looks great on the rifle with a retro mag. The only down side that some folks may see to it is the texturing, which I would think is retro correct. The only texture is some minimal ribbing on the backstrap and the rest is smooth. A non issue if you ask me, its a functional retro AR10 grip, where else am I going to get one? And it does everything I need and more. If I was super crazy worried about the texture Id slap some skateboard tape on it.
Great reproduction
Fit my Brn-10 perfectly, looks very much like the original, nice color match to the rest of the furniture.
Good quality, wrong dimensions
Grip didn't fit(!) out of the packaging. Had to sand down the groove to widen it just enough to force on. If not for that fact, it would be 5 stars.
doesn't fit
this grip doesn't fit a brn180 lower.
Doesn't fit out of the box
Grip gap narrows towards the front. You will need to remove material from the grip to make it fit. Not worth the price.
