BODY DIES

BODY DIES Reviews & Ratings

Body Dies are designed to full length resize the case body, bump the shoulder position for proper chambering, but not size the neck at all. They are made without internal parts and are intended for resizing cases which have become increasingly difficult to chamber after repeated firing. After using a body die, the case should be run through the neck die to achieve proper neck tension. Sold separately or as part of a set.

Body dies, neck sizing, competition shell holders for bolt guns
For my bolt action bottleneck cased rifles, when accuracy and case life is important, I use Redding body dies, Lee neck collet dies, Redding competition shell holders and Hornady Headspace Gauge to measure and control shoulder bump.

Great product
I had loaded a few hundred rounds and the shoulders needed bumped back just slightly to chamber. This die is perfect for that, corrected my mistake and chamber perfectly now.

Excellent product
Last year I broke one of my useful rules and loaded 300 rounds for use in my AR through the whole process including the factory crimp. I was in a hurry and did not check the cartridges as I went; some would chamber/ some would not. Used this die to bump back the shoulder a few thousandths and resize the body. Up and running. I am becoming quite a fan of Redding dies; wish I had discovered them sooner.

Quality
Superior manufacture typical of Redding " Made in U.S.A" products. American materials and craftsmanship at their best.

Extend Brass Life.
This is the die you need to return brass cases to their original dimensions, after multiple reloadings. Eventually, all bottle neck cases will reach a point, where they will not be sized enough, to chamber easily, in the rifle they were fired in. The non competitive shooter will rarely reach that point with their brass. If they do, they'll toss the troublesome case, and buy new brass. The shooters using Lapua, or Norma, brass cases, have a financial incentive in gaining more life from their expensive brass. This die, when combined with annealing, avoiding high pressure, and preventing damage to cases, will extend brass life, until the signs of head separation rear it's ugly head. The die only sizes the case body, and can be adjusted to move the shoulder to match the chamber it's used in. A Full Length, or Neck Sizing Die, is still required to finish the size process. Redding makes fine dies, and this one is perfect for the purpose.

This is an awesome body die from Redding
I like this body die so much I bought several for different rifles. They are easy to set up, accurate, and repeatable. I am able to minimally size the body and bump the shoulder .002 with ease. The only thing I don't like is the free shipping method used. It is shipped via UPS then handed off to the post office for delivery. SLOW.

Addendum
Sorry didn't want to mislead anyone . Polishing the expander to .3065 will give a 2 thousands neck tension . If you polish to .3075 equals 1 thousands neck tension .

Simply works
I use these in every caliber of rifle I own. I bump the shoulders back with the Redding dies then size the necks with a lee collet die . Then use a k&m expander mandrel / Sinclair works too that I polish down to .3065 .this expands so I have one thousands neck tension . Then seat the bullets using LE Wilson seater die . Using LAPUA brass and match bullets my TIR is always less then 1 thousands . So runout is less the 1/2 thousands.i know bushing dies work for others but to be honest I've never needed to try that route .
