Big investment but worth it
While this system is expensive and a big investment it has started to pay for it self after just a couple of months. The instructions are essential to read and read again and then follow. The only thing that is a downside to the system is that the burner for the salts is a gas hungry beast. So if you can save up your work to do as many guns in a string as you can it will save you gas and money in heating the salts to operating temp. The only thing I quickly replaced were the gloves. the ones that came with the kit are thin and get really hot. I am using a pair of rubber thermal barbeque gloves that keep my hands much cooler. Overall I was very pleased with the results after my first attempt.
Great System From Brownells
We purchased this system for our shop. After reading,re-reading and then reading the instructions again we gave it a try. Great results first time! If you spend the time with the polishing wheel your guns will come out of the bluing looking better than factory! Well worth the investment!

Just add water
Like the description says, this kit does have everything. They seem to have updated it since I purchased mine, as they provide an overflow now, I had to rig my own. I have had my kit running for almost a year in my shop, which usually blues once a week, and with proper care of the salts, it hasn't let me down. I still haven't had to order new salts, the Oxy 7 salts are great, with really good tank life. The tanks themselves are well put together, mine haven't leaked a bit, and they will hold three rifles/shotguns at a time if you stagger them. The instructions that come with the system are top notch, step by step, and simply written. The only thing I changed was to add a larger burner for my boil out tank, because the smaller burner didn't want to keep a heavy rolling boil for me.
Over all works well
Great starting kit. The main draw back to this is the tanks. I use propane for heating and the out side of my tanks are rusting and pitting. The inside of the tanks are holding up well so not sure what the issues is. I had the tanks sandblasted and powder coated and they are still going with out any leaks as of yet. I have blued over 300 firearms with it thus far and still going strong on the original chemicals that came with the kit. Bottom line is a great value kit.
Gets The Job Done
The chemicals included in this kit are top shelf and you won't find anything better out there. Oxynate 7 brings great, expected and consistent results. The 909 cleaner works great and is easy to work with. It cleans off easy and is very reliable. I have had no issues with the water displacing oil either. The Stop Creep will not work for me at all. I have noticed that anyone else I know that has tried it has had the same results (two other local gunsmiths). The tanks are a good size and leave enough room when the bluing salts are at a rolling boil. I am, however, disappointed with the quality of the tanks. The welds are very rough and I am concerned about weak or thin spots in the joints. The bead is not even at all and the edges of the tanks are very raw (careful, they can cut you very easily). I feel that the craftsmanship here is below average. I had a local welder make me a set at a similar price with much better results. I had a small leak in one of the hot water LP burners that he had to fix as well. The tank stands are hard to beat. They are of high quality and very simple to construct. They also allow the easy mounting of the burners at the correct height. They need to be bolted to the floor or to the wall. All in all, this is a good buy and would recommend it over other retailers. It really includes everything you need to get started bluing, as long as you have the materials to prep the metal of the firearms. This can save a lot of grief from forgetting items and includes top notch bluing instructions as well, which I highly recommend you read cover to cover before starting.
